The Mountain Waste!!

TCU is good, but schedule strength is very questionable. They barely beat 25th ranked team or is it 24th. I didn't check the polls, is anyone else ranked after this win that they will play? Still be loads of fun to watch.
I would like to see a matchup like OSU vs TCU as ell.

I do like their new uniforms, very nice, super wicked.

The Mountain West is what it is, an overall weak division(was getting stronger though before Utah and BYU decided to defect) with 3 strong teams. Air Force is gaining in respectability, and to a lesser extent so is Wyoming. San Diego St, Colorado St, and UNLV are bad teams and New Mexico is just plain terrible.
That being said, there is nothing TCU can do about it(given the opportunity TCU would jump to a bigger conference in a second), they can only play who they play, win as many as they can and hope for the best at the end of the year. Until the BCS is overhauled or eliminated completely teams are judged by wins and losses. If they win out they will be in the equation at the end of the year, so get used to it.
Just like Texas' non-conference schedule(the only part of the schedule that the school controls, btw) consists of: Rice, Wyoming, UCLA, and Florida Atlantic, other teams with weak schedules are rewarded.
Now, if you want to talk about how TCU barely beat the 24th ranked team, let's talk about some of the "powerhouse" teams and how they did and who they played this week:
#5 Texas vs Rice(ranked nowhere near the top 25) 34-17
#4 Florida vs Miami-Ohio(nowhere near the top 25) 34-12
#2 Ohio St vs Marshall(nowhere near the top 25) 45-7
#1 Alabama vs San Jose St(well, you know...) 48-3
#7 Oklahoma vs Utah St.(Are you seeing a pattern here?) 31-24
I could go on and on here.

The only teams in the top 10 to choose(yes, I said CHOOSE) to play anyone respectable this week are:
#3 Boise St.
#10 West Virginia
and yes, #6 TCU

And some "powerhouse" teams didn't even look too good against the powderpuff teams they played.

My point is that the current BCS format rewards wins(the bigger margin the better) and punishes losers(no matter who they are beaten by). So teams don't have the incentive to schedule good teams because they don't gain anything extra by beating them and can lose everything by losing to them.

what gets me about Boise and TCU is they can beat one good team a year and they get national rankings, THEY DO NOT PLAY GOOD TEAMS WEEK END AND WEEK OUT hence the injurys are less

yes Boise beat V Tech but who else do they play for another 11 games, nobodys, whereas ut beat rice but look at their other 11 games

Injuries are less? I very much beg to differ there. The chance of injury is not based upon the ranking of your opponent. As WK says, don't make up stats to suit your argument. I would ask that you post a link to some reasonable stats to back of that claim.

TCU did fine to open up against Oregon St. with a W at JerryWorld, Boise St. and Va Tech didn't really look sharp but that was the highest ranked opener. The Broncos got a W which is really all any team needs out of the gate. Many of the "powerhouses" didn't look sharp especially Florida (way too many turnovers) but they are still undefeated Pope Urbie will take it as opposed to an upset. They say you always improve the most from the first to second game so this coming week will begin to show who's making progress or not.

give me a break, if Boise or TCU played in the Big 12-2 they WOULD have more injurys playing against BIGGER teams

no stats just facts

TCU Average 317 > UT Average 306

Sorry but your size argument doesn't hold much water and that was the first group I looked up for comparison.

Starters vs Starters TCU could hang with anybody, it's later in the games when players off the bench start becoming a factor. The "bigger" schools are much deeper off the bench.
If TCU played in the Big 12 South this year I firmly believe they would finish 2nd in the division and give Texas a run for their money for 1st place.

I love sticking it to Longhorn fans. Got in a fight for a simple tease at the Oregon vs UT Holiday Bowl (I asked a very large family all wearing burnt orange if they were here for the Ducks) and ever since then I have realized they are waaaay too serious about their team.

True statement. TCU's starters are as good as anyone, i wonder if their team is.

size matters?? never heard that before LOL or that's what she said! ok back to football, unless you are talking about 30 plus pounds that's not a mis-match. I'll take a more talented guy 10 pounds less and in better shape especially in the 4th quarter. Remember what Billy Parcells said? "The only fat guy on this team will be me " or words to that effect.

now about that little comment .. "I asked a very large family all wearing burnt orange if they were here for the Ducks) and ever since then I have realized they are waaaay too serious about their team."

Us Longhorns fans are serious about our team because we HAVE a serious team!

That's not what you SAID. Hard to quote on my cell but you brought up weight as your reason there would be more injuries. Ya lost that argument.
