Should have added a kudos to " 1835 " made in Lewisville - it too is rustic neat or over ice. Somebody knew what they were doing when they made that one!

Notations made on page four of the Dallas Observer post above.

Noah's Mill...hands down the best bourbon I've ever tasted.

Close second Rowan's Creek.

Best large format bourbon Willet 1.75 in the obnoxious giant butt plug shaped bottle.

Go see Simon at Spec's on Central. He is the most knowledgeable spirits guy I have ever met.

Another favorite of mine, if you want to try a Texas Whisky.

TX Blended Whisky.

One of the smoothest I'v tried, has a light kind of unique flavor,
I think it has won some awards.

Are you talking about the whiskey made by Firestone and Robertson in Ft Worth or the sludge made in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and bottled in Lewisville?

c.a.

Yes, made by Firestone and Robertson, I don't know the other one.

It is one of my favorites to mix with coke. To me it has a very smooth kind of
unique flavor.

I'm a Texan through and through, still I was skeptical about a whiskey made
in Texas, but I really like it.

I second Noah's Mill. The best by far. I had it in Kentucky and was worried I couldn't get it in Dallas but have since found it.

Default Probably run you about $1000 per bottle, but....

My fav is The Macallan 25 Year. Good stuff if you can get your hands on it.

My first scotch was The Macallan 12 year, I can only imagine what a 25 year must taste like.

The last few years, my go to single malt has been The Balvenie 12 year. However, I recently bought a bottle of Tobermory 10 year (enjoying some this very moment, in fact) after it was recommended to me, and I'm very impressed; it is very smooth with a hint of dark chocolate, then has a long lasting aftertaste that isn't harsh. I will be getting another bottle for certain.
