Instead of Nuru massage we could just do a slippery hand sanitizer massage! Bubble wrap works too! Someone out there probably does have a fetish for that

I have to say, that from my experience, I think "hobbyists" in general, try to stay well and play on days that they are not sick. And, I thank them so much for that fact.

I see coughing and sneezing in the grocery stores, sure. I can avoid those places and duck and cover, and wash, wash.... But, I must say, that I think there is a certain level of respect, perhaps.. for which I am ever grateful. My boyfriends don't want to come and play if they are sick.

I think it is a good idea to not hobby for a week after a cold, or a bit longer after the flu. You never know if a simple cold could make someone you know much more ill and lead to dire consequences...

So, let's keep up the good handwashing and all try and stay well. The hell with the flu season! Let's have some fun (and bee well) *(grin)*

Love,
Crystal

"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you."

Seriously, norovirus is even more of a problem. Think hoping your toilet is close enough to your sink because you'll be shooting out both directions at once. And while the influenza virus only lasts maybe 15 minutes "in the wild" noro (Norwalk, "cruise ship", day care, call it what you will) can last for days. When I go shopping I wipe off the cart, but I don't touch my face with my hands after that and when I pick up something like green onions I always use the bag (turn it inside-out). And if I see "you" handle one, I'll skip it regardless. Ever had it? You have a 25% chance of contracting it in the next 5 years and WILL at least once in your miserable (at least while you have it) life.

Or, that sanitizer? Doesn't do shit for any virus. Better to rub your hands under ice water for a minute.

Just before the door opens you hear a serious sneeze and "oh shit, I wish this would quit". Door opens. "Oh, I'm sorry, I was expecting <someone of opposite sex to that person>." And deny you're who you are. Better to get a "no show" here than three or four days of misery.

there are some nasty bugs going around, for sure. I have serious stock of "wet-ones" wipes, which work better than sanitizer. I carry them everywhere, and use them all the time. They do help.

I just wish people would stay home if they can't control their symptoms (coughing, sneezing, etc).

Scarlet.....thank you for posting this....

Unfortunately the flu vaccine is an educated guess from the CDC....I prefer not to have it ...only when I work in pediatrics (as a nurse)

But guys....if you have a Cough or a severe headache, body achiness, no appetite, fever and feel like you were run by a truck ..more likely is.....the flu ...isolate yourself and run to your doctor (tell them before hand so the put you In the "special room") and start your Tamiflu .....

To prevent ....

EmergencC .....check
Isopure multivitamin ...check
Water with lime juice ....check
Constant hand washing ...check
Change toothbrush often....check
Zinc lozenges ...check
Bath with ginger, baking soda, Epsom, lavender oil ......check
A sexy attitude ...check

Don't forget that people are contagious before they show any symptoms of the flu.

Also, forget the anti-vaccine nonsense. Yes, it's not 100% effective. There may be some side effects. There may even be a small number of serious side effects.

An average of 36,000 people a year die from flu in the US, every year. Avoiding the flu shot because of worrying about side effects is like refusing to wear a seat belt because you are afraid you'll be trapped in a burning car because your seat belt won't unlatch.

@GneissGuy, well said !!!
It's all about probabilities and percentages and risks, and trying to make educated choices.

That's why I always lick the handles of the shopping carts and the door knobs of public bathrooms.... to boost my immune system. Remember, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger LOL

Regular sex also boosts the immune system and general health so thank you ladies for keeping us healthy. I DO always wash up thoroughly before meeting my lady friends and then when lucky (or when getting lucky) get to lick all the dirty/interesting parts on them too of course. The ones I like best reciprocate!

One thing I haven't seen that should be obvious to everyone here: We need to clean our keyboards and mouses (mice?) on a regular basis. My keyboard and mouse see antiseptic wipes about once a week, and I pop the individual keys off and do a thorough cleaning about once every three months or so. Also I always do a quick cleaning when someone else has been at my computer, which is pretty common since I live with three other adults with only one other computer in the house.

And I must voice agreement with Rockerrick: PB, you need to make your presence felt more than you do.

It will also help if you take a zinc once a day. Flu and cold have a harder time getting to you while taking it.

one of the filthiest things is our cell phones or any phone for that matter so many germs on them and our computer keyboards as well so wipe them down regularly.

Unless someone else is using your keyboard or mouse, there's very little risk of catching anything from them. Any germs on them will be something you're already infected with.

However, you're right. Shared keyboards or mice would be a good vector for colds or flu.
