The Obama and the State Department have embarrassed themselves and by proxy the rest of the citizens of the United States.
The right of free speech and to express an opinion in this country should be protected by the United States government all over the world. It is shameful to say we are sorry because Copitc Christians here in the States have chosen to [I assume as I've not seen the movie] to portray Mohammed, that married girls as young as 11, as a sexual predator, then so be it. Sounds like it me. The State Department officials have every reasonable expectation that the chain of command would protect them while representing their country.
They don't understand our freedoms. Unfortunately they choose to demonstrate that ignorance with violence, and therefore we have to defend ourselves against their ignorance no matter how innocent or not it is.

Muhammad married a six year old; her name was Aisha. He supposedly waited until she was nine before he started having sex, involving penetration, with her; keep in mind that Muhammad was fifty four years old at the time. It is widely believed that he was probably molesting her prior to that, just not full penetration.
When the Ayatollah Khomenini took over Iran, after the fall of the Shah, he immediately lowered the legal age of marriage, for females, to nine. Ayatollah Khomeni wrote a two volume book (‘Tahrir al Wasilah’) which supports pedophilia and explains in graphic detail which forms of molestation of female children were acceptable to Islam. Khomeini even endorsed molestation of infants and beastiallity.
Islam is a sick, twisted, evil religion.

Are the democrats dismissing this entire thing? Did I read this thread right? I'm open to the possibility I didn't. What about what I said rubbed you so wrong my dear? And Sensia I've thought the same of you many times, but I've never dogged you on here. I try not to keep notes but you are making it difficult.
Edit to add:
Explain to me what I said, that is so stupid. Really. I'm offering myself up for the slaughter. I sincerely want to know and understand the other side (I wasn't even aware America had another side on this).

You are absolutely right, Kayla. We are funding these brutal people who continue to attack us. It's insane, and I said so at the time we were "helping" them.
The libs on here know Obama screwed up, but they are incapable of noticing anything deficient in their Obamessiah.
The only thing I disagree with is you wanting to suck Joe's dick and not mine. But if I have to live with that, I suppose I can.

Obama never made any such apology.. it was the folks at the Cairo embassy.
They made this statement;
"The U.S. embassy in Cairo put out a statement early Tuesday that was pegged to anger over an anti-Muslim film being circulated by an Israeli-American real estate developer".
"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions," the embassy said in a statement published online".
-------------
What the Obama administration did was this in response to that:
"The Obama administration is disavowing a statement from its own Cairo embassy that seemed to apologize for anti-Muslim activity in the United States".
"The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government,"
Where the hell do you see President Obama apologizing may I ask?
This is just the same stupid asinine crap of blaming the president for anything and everything... honestly I think it is really poor on Romney's part to make a political pock shot at Obama for this, which I think is even low for Romney and really beneath him. Again it shows who Romney really is, and his character. He is a slime ball.. and will do anything and everything to get into office.
By the way Obama did condemn the attacks publicly. Romney just loves lying, he is a fucking liar and an idiot and I am really sick of this moron. He doesn't have an ounce of truth in him, nor a conscience, he just makes shit up and carries on like this is truth when clearly it is not .

By the way these statements were made 6 hours before the attacks and the embassy officials were trying to do damage control. They were trying to avoid more hostility. The statement was not approved by the White House. But it is obvious they were trying to fend off what happened.

Did I say anywhere that THE extreme response was necessary? The embassy is full of marines. Why were the combatants allowed to climb and top the walls of the embassy?

Damage control to their own houses is more like it. You cannot avoid hostility by rolling over and showing your belly, or in the case of the Obama administration, offering the jugular and providing the blade.

Sensia,
Do you honestly think that an ambassador in a blood bath part of the world would have made such an announcement without running it up the chain of command? It's typical Obama duck and cover bullshit. He's letting the ambassador's career get tarred and feathered not his. He's a bad leader and an even worse human being.
To All,
Did it ever occur to any of you that I don't want anyone apologizing for "American insensitivity" and making a parody of Mohammed (I stand corrected: a six year old wife). I do not want to apologize to the Arab people for begging us to stay in their part of the world and then behind our backs - whilst we are protecting them from their enemies - plotting against us and attacking us. I do not offer an apology, and I don't want one offered in my stead.
The WSJ buried this on page 8. Game changing news buried on page 8! Thank God the American press on on the job - not.

Olivia,
The people at the embassy were trying to avoid what happened, and thus made that statement trying to diffuse the situation that was coming, the statement being made 6 hours before the attack.
This wasn't an apology by the President, and is utterly ridiculous to think it was. They became overwhelmed by mortar fire and combatants who came in all military style. There is a group out there that goes around inciting these mobs on purpose and the embassy got wind of what was coming.
Jesus, I just don't get some of you people... I really don't.
By the way if it means saving lives in an embassy building in some foreign country (where one cannot get past mobs) then screw the whole "we won't apologize" crap. People were trying to survive what happened and avoid conflict by making that statement.

It still falls under the chain of command and is the responsibility of the individual in command (BHO)

The liberal response is to suck their dicks and increase3 howmuch they are willing to pay them to do so.
Carter didnt do shit.
Clinton didnt do shit.
Now Obama wont do shit.
Religion of peace my ass.
They do it because they know that our President is a pussy, cock sucker.
What will their solution be: send them more money with a stern warning.

I disagree. I don't think that anyone anywhere would issue such a broad sentiment for the United States without getting the nod first. If they knew the attack was coming six hours in advance, then they had time to get the verbiage of statement approved; even in the days of the telex that was enough time.

It's debate. It's not a matter of not "getting" you or vice versa. I am not a dogmatic party member, and we disagree - that's all. I admire your stance for sex workers. I am very liberal in some cases, just not a social democrat like Obama.

The people working there are State Department employees and Marines. They knew the risks when they signed up to see the world, be lifers and travel on the American dime. It's their job to be the first line and face of America. It's what they do. There are entire chapters in their contract that detail danger zones, danger pay and danger actions. It really is their job; it's what they signed up for when all they were thinking about was the glamor and lifer status.
Edit: BTW, I meant the lifer and travel on the American dime about the State Department employees not the Marines.

They weren't trying to avoid conflict by issuing the apology. They were trying to defect blame for the attack to conservatives in the US. As long as we knew as attack was imminent, why not take advantage of it? As Rahm Emanuel has stated, "Never let a good crisis go to waste."

In any event I'm sure it'd make an interesting movie. I'd pay to go see it.
WTF, I'm genuinely trying to reach out to you for understanding on my part. Please tell me why you feel the way you do. I hope you aren't one of those folks that flings out his monkey and then whips it back and runs away before having a rational conversation. I'm not making fun of you. I"m not calling you names. I don't wish for your bed bugs to enlarge and make a home inside your ass. I just want to understand how and why you think what you do.

You hear what you want to, and you repeat the errors you agree with hoping that others are as misinformed and gullible as you. The Cairo embassy reiterated its morning statement AFTER the attack: "This morning's condemnation still stands" @ 4:29 PM.
The embassy's morning condemnation before midday:
U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Incitement
September 11, 2012
The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others
