Awwww....did you miss the title of the thread. WHY IS THERE NO LIBERAL AYN RAND ???
The lady you folks worship, thought religion a farce. Well not a farce, more like something that helped control the masses with faith until logic and reason took over. Of course logic and reason has not displaced the your faith or as Ayn Rand would describe you... the alleged short-cut to knowledge, which is faith, is only a short-circuit destroying the mind

How does your post address the question : Why Is There No Liberal Ayn Rand ???
It doesn't; you just went off on some BS tangent with a bunch of name calling and sterotyping of people you disagree with....that is the substance of liberal arguements....
You can't argue based on political thought, ideology; you have no foundation. it is all about emotions.

This post does the trick. My others posts were just explaining how ignorant the right is in their devotion to Aynnie

You are acting as if Ayn Rand is some mystic figure that the left need emulate.
Be like asking if there is someone on the left that can jack off as well as say Edward Scissorhands.
An ignorant premise. Your ignorant premise is akin to asking someone if they are still beating their wife.
Sorry if that is to hard for you to understand.

Huh ?
Your response makes no sense.
I do find it telling that you so vigourously defend the left's right to remain ignornant!
Noted liberal thinker (and publisher of the New Republic) Marty Peretz said: “It is liberalism that is now bookless and dying."
I didn't say it.

after reading this my desire is to pat you gently and lead you as i might a small child, for you to read the thread starting post again...
the writer wonders about the left not having an ayn rand or a van mises or some thesis and argument or intellectual heritage....its not whirly...he is merely presenting opinion as to why the left has no logic

I am making fun of your leader(s), Ayn Rand.
That you are to stupid to understand that is why she is one of your leaders...
But if you must, I prefer Mark Twain. A huge leftie of his day. .

you deflect but please assume a better position.
this one is too easily dismissed as, well i wont call it lying, because i wish to allow you some dignity, but misspeaking
you werent making fun of ayn rand, you were trying in some way, however illlogic was your thought process, to point out the hypocrisy or maybe it was the idiocy, who knows, of rand being an athiest and yet having free market opinions as if that somehow showed conservatives to be fools. i still dont get it so i am fumbling for what you might have meant, but suffice it to say, you thought you hit on some grand strategically masterful stroke of genius only you could unveil for the blind
how were you making fun of ayn rand? either as an athiest? or maybe as a conservative or a free marketeer? or a conservative/athiest/free marketeer? there was no making fun of ayn rand..please!

We The Living was drawn from her own experiences during the Bolshevik Revolution. It described the horrors of living under communism. The rest of her work was an illustration of what can happen in the West if we continue to follow the liberal policies that result in communism.
We would do well to heed her warning. Our current society is looking much to much like the fictional society she described in Atlas Shrugged.
Her views on religion are her own, and I don't know why they are relevant here. If you seriously believed in one of our mainstream gods, why are you posting on a SHMB? Won't you be going to hell for doing so? So what do you gain about deriding someone for their religion, or lack thereof?
That is called a "straw argument." I've tried to explain that before, but some people just won't listen.
Why is it that if someone respects a person, they have to buy into everything that person says? Can we not respect some aspects, and reject others? Does the fact that we reject some aspect automatically discredit the opinions we do respect?

I am making fun of you folks who worship Ayn Rand , a nonfiction writer, as some champion of free market enterprise, while you fail to acknowledge her championing facts and logic instead of blind faith! I know that will go over you Tea Nuts heads but that is damn funny to a fellow like myself who comes on this site for the irony!
