--LE sees the 1st provider and now has a reference
--Using that reference they can more easily see a few more; now they have a number of references that allow them to get onto web sites, get cleared with ladies/agencies that are more careful, etc.
--They may or may not go after the first few ladies, may or may not try to turn them
I'm certainly not saying this DID happen, just that it would be consistent with some LE practices depending if they had a specific person or group targeted and the first lady was a stepping stone in their eyes, much as a street dealer on the way to a bigger distributor.

This was my second thought after I had time to get over the initial shock of how it went down. That's why I didn't make an alert on HER. Like I said before, I was in shock because I have dealt with this lady on several different occasions, and I've never had a reason to question anything about her in the past.

I can see how someone who has never been/never known anyone who was caught up in this type of situation would think it's a bit far fetched. This may be due to the fact that we're in different areas. I suggest you guys research a little more before dismissing the possibility, though. I would've never believed a cop would be allowed to have full service with an escort before cuffing her until I met and talked to a lady that it happened to.

Is this fundamentally different from an undercover cop buying a small amout of drugs from a low level dealer to start working their way up the chain to a major distributor? I don't know the legalities, but I know small illegalities are allowed for a bigger target. I don't know if it applies in this case, but I suspect it does.

The reason I am asking is because unmarked police cars are generally the same make and model as marked cars. They just don't have any insignias or bar lights. Police Detectives the suit and Tie guys are usually assigned these vehicles. The other type of vehicle other than a marked squad are the undercover vehicles they can be anything they can range from Corvettes to Pickup trucks and they are used for deep undercover vice ops, like Narcotic and prostitution stings. If you were able to dodge a sting it was poorly conducted because they didn't get you and they were suppose to.

I definitely saw an unmarked car. Not undercover. Not an old police car that had been auctioned off to some civilian. I will admit that had I not spotted the patrol car, I probably would've missed it. I was on alert once I saw the first one, so scanning the lot was a bit instinctual. Although I've never been in the back of one (well, not in a BAD way), I have a bit of experience spotting them (maybe I'll tell you about it someday ). Nobody was inside it. The "markings" of an unmarked car were extremely obvious to someone who knows what they look like. And as far as THAT is concerned, I think things went down just the way they were supposed to in the end. They aren't ALWAYS smarter, you know...

I never ask the question either. A little background: like I said, I wouldn't call us friends, but I have dealt with her on many occasions in the past. When asking for references from ANY lady, I usually get one of two responses, either a simple ok OR a more descriptive email about the gentleman in question. So, please understand that although her response may seem like a sign of bad for some, it is TRULY the way she answers reference requests. If I were to mention her by name here, I bet a lot of ladies would understand what I mean. So, when I have been getting this person the way she is from DAY ONE with her (first contact ever was at a meet and greet), why would I all of a sudden think something is out of place? It's her style. Is it TMI? To some (even myself), it can be. But, it's the way she works. That's why the reference sent no red flags. For me, it wasn't what was said to me, it was WHO said it.

I think it's a good thing that you didn't find out for realz if he was LE. Since you weren't actually arrested, anything at this point would be speculation, and not the truth. For all you know, the police were getting drinks, or had someone else in mind. I have walked past police in the lobby of hotels without an issue. Usually they have other agendas. Whatever you have to do to feel secure in your decision to meet a gent, do it. You didn't feel right and you walked away, you have made the right decision.

Thanks, Tiffani! My thoughts as well. I feel very good about the decision I made. I have no questions about how I handled it at all.

Ava, I will never take another reference from her. Ever. I'm going to report what happened, but I'm not accusing her of anything. I'm just going to tell the facts just the way I did here.
