Good point so I edited the post above yours just in case.....

I don't quite understand how board handles jeopardize personal security.... it's not like his family will be browsing the escort boards.

Hmmmmm.... am I missing something?

Andramelch, the word I am getting is they were cementing the production casing and took a kick while cementing. This is one of the times when the well can come in because while cementing you are taking a pit gain and they probably didn't differentiate gas influx from cement (they should have had indications though). By the time they discovered something was wrong the gas was probably at the surface and evidently the bottom hole pressure was more than the bop's could stand. I have been on a blowout in the gulf under these same circumstances and had to evacuate but fortunately the well bridged over before the platform cought on fire. It is amazing the force an out of control well has, it will humble you quickly.

I was a mod on the P. You'd be amazed how often amazing coincidences happen and someone linked real world to hobby world. I had to help try and clean up the disasters when someone got found out. Unfortunately, we couldn't really do much to help, but we did what we can.

A few years back, I got a knock on the door at my home. I answered it and a lady asked for someone else's name. I asked her what address, etc. she was looking for and tried to help her. It turns out she was an escort I recognize from her pictures on the board. Now I know the real name and address of one of her clients. Suppose he posts a review of the lady on that particular night. Coincidences happen.

It's also a lot more common than you might think for a real world acquaintance to be on the board. JoeBlow posts about the great time he had at the strip club Thursday with a cute Filipina in a blue thong. He didn't notice that one of his wife's coworkers was sitting a few tables away watching the show. The coworker is on this board.

Or Bstalker has a grudge on the board with JoeDriller. Someone else posts that JoeDriller was one of the 11 missing people, but he shows up later. Or that Joe was burned slightly but got out of the hospital Thursday. Now, Bstalker has a list of possible names for Joe.

Look at what happened to Amber's family when it was announced on ASPD that she died. I'm guessing that the info they posted about that helped the lowlife who harassed them dig up information on their real world.

Sorry to stray so far afield, but I really feel for those who have suffered from being found out, and have had to try and help.

Back to the subject, I hope they find the missing people, but I'm getting a real bad feeling about this.

I was about to answer your queary, but then I read what GGuy had to say and since it was exactly what I was going to say (the stuff about being amazed at how coincidences happen around here and about the number of times I've had to try to fix things when someone got found out), then I'll just say that you should read what GGuy had to say because I highly concur with his assessment of the situation.....

Sometimes "Healthy Paranoia" is a very good thing,

My heart goes out to the families of all that are in harms way...May the Great Spirit look out over all in peril, where ever they may be...

Let's not forget how even the big city of New Orleans can be like a small town.
