Well, MM he spoke of conservative religious people and gun owners in a condescending manner. It is implied that not only does he not like them but further he has no respect for them. Like if I were to say of good little liberals that they cling to their disingenuous notion that equate being liberal with being open mined, and they think their warm thoughts about their fellow man is ordained by God himself.
