Simply rent a car for long trips. Problem solved.

Besides most peeps have 2 vehicles, so an EV is a perfect choice.

Can drive to Toronto no problem. Stay at a hotel offering free guest chargers and battery never has low miles readings while going about since it charges overnight.

Really???
Care to expand on that. Know a few salesmen who have EVs and will never go back to ICE.

Yes I do still have the Mach-e. It's fun to drive, and I love the performance. The only maintenance has been tire rotations and filling the windshield washer fluid. My only real gripe is that Ford still needs to work out the bugs in the OTA updates for the 2021 models. The newer years don't seem to have the same problem.
I will likely upgrade to the GT model after the redesign. There's not much sense in upgrading sooner because not much has changed.

Glad to hear Willie!
Agree they are a blast to drive and very quiet. They are all peppy as hell and want to go. No more pumping gas in the rain or freezing snow. No more oil changes. No more antifreeze. Since there are no emissions tests, yearly vehicle inspections are only 10 bucks in NY!

Only maintenance is rotating tires which is free and covered by the dealer, who also tops off the windshield washer fluid for me.

Used to spend about $150/month on gasoline on my last ICE vehicle and that is not counting the needed oil changes and antifreeze changes.
Now spend about $35/month on electricity, for a net savings of $115/month, for the last 2½ years! This comes out to $3450 saved by me and did not go to our Oil Cartels!

Electricity is a bargain in WNY compared to gasoline.
See NO reason to go back to any ICE vehicles.
EV prices are dropping, they have a ⅓ less parts than ICE vehicles and they are only getting better.

The only thing holding me back from going electric is distance and lack of charging stations in the mountains. That, and I do a lot of winter long distance driving.

If you have 2 vehicles an EV is a perfect second vehicle choice. Problem solved.
EVs and batteries are getting better.
In 2025 GM has a couple EVs with 450 miles of battery range.

I drive a hybrid for work. It’s awesome. But I want full EV, towing capability, and long range with heat or A/C running.

Soon, hopefully, what I want will be available.

Presently for towing EVs suck! The bigger the load you tow the faster the battery depletes. AC and heating doesn't deplete batteries badly at all.
Workaround for this is bigger battery packs like Amazon, the USPS and Tesla uses on their upcoming semi-trucks.

You want towing power, diesel trucks give you that but then you have to put up with being raped on the price of diesel fuel by our Oil Cartels, which is a whole different story. Funny, remember back in the 40s, 50s, 60s and even 70s diesel fuel was always a cheaper fuel than gasoline. This was because when refining oil, getting as much gasoline out of barrel was the goal, with diesel being pretty much what was left over. Our Oil Cartels flipped that figuring lets change things a bit and now get more diesel out of a barrel of oil. Then jack the price of diesel up over a buck a gallon or more/gal, then wallop truckers for this higher nefarious cost knowing they will pass it on to consumers, figuring consumers will never see how they are being screwed when these price increases are passed on to them.

Some of the newer battery technology looks promising. Tesla is the leading the pack being The only EV manufacturer that's developing and building it's own batteries. 500 miles on a single charge will soon be the new norm. At least that's what they're saying. Cybertruck dual and tri-motor can tow 11,000 lb, but they're pretty damn ugly. I still think they're pretty cool though and hella fun to drive.
