No why would I? I don't need all my photos to be touched up and edited when I can just do it myself in Picasa. I have maybe 6 photos only one that is pro, and it was taken with a very nice camera. Haven't had any complaints on them yet, and was looking into a female photographer in fla. I just pay someone to take the pictures, but you don't necessarily have to use their studio...they seem to appreicate the savings.

You don't need to have all the bells and whistles to have nice photos that garner more business. A pro photographer can usually work with any equipment you have. Funny Meeshee was mentioned because she is the fla. photographer I contacted.

I got the same email from Dave. KNowing that he is a pretty well respected hobbyist and poster on this board, I did not take offense at all that he was offering his professional services.

But, let's make it the worst case... say Dave was just another Porno dog trying to score free pussy... an alert? Not in a million years... just a "no" or completely ignore like all the other spam.

But, in this case, my dear HeidiLynnLA, you were way out of line without looking into it a bit more. Try not to pull the trigger so fast next time. And don't take all the posts her negative... just learn from it. It's always better to think it through before you post.

Dave, sorry you got aggravated but I completely understand. And, the way I see it, if a girl wants more control over her pictures, then she doesn't have to take advantage of your discounted offer but can pay the listed prices and negotiate ownership. Right?

Well, of course Meshee is accepted with open arms, she is a FEMALE. Duh! As a female, nobody is worried about her being skeevy and creepy. Not being a female, you couldn't possibly know how many gross men out there DO send out emails just like that for simple pervert reconnaissance and nothing else.. It's more common than you would think. ESPECIALLY with the hobbyist cum photographer segment of the population.

Oh god, and ESPECIALLY being a provider, those who know of your career tend to take a lot more creepy liberties. I could tell you horror stories that would make your skin crawl (like one hobbyist who I was going to PAY to take photos of me who NOT ONLY had several other men (and another provider who asked if I "swing both ways") in his condo when I showed up who thought they were going to be in for a SHOW, had pornos showing on the TV and was mad when I demanded my money back and left. And yes, this piece of... work was a "professional" with a great portfolio. So I think Heidi's concern was valid. Even if that's not how YOU operate, there are many (especially hobbyists and those who know we're escorts coming in for the shoots) who DO. You have to understand THAT before you get defensive. There are reasons why we think someone is trying to get over (even if they're not). And yeah, I agree... a simple "NO WAY" would do. Or even just not sending that e-mail out to ladies who obscure their faces.

Furthermore I think instead of jumping on Heidi's case, calling her an idiot etc, simply calmly addressing her concerns would have been better.

Being a male photographer trying to make a name (and a buck) in boudoir photography, you would do better to note the concerns and address them in a gentler manner because no matter how great your work is (and it IS great), your gender is already putting you at a disadvantage. You don't want to also add to that "easily prone to anger." You know what I mean? Not trying to diss you at all, but think about what providers have to deal with before you think someone is being irrational.

Agree with Veronica. If you are already showing your face who the hell would care to pass it around? The whole world already knows you don't care about broadcasting this part of your life, but when you have something to lose you tend to get scared. I tend not to crap where I eat if you will, so I want a pro who has no clue what I do on the side.

I don't think it's alert worthy because many male photographers do in fact offer free photos for sessions. If I didn't mind the exposure I would take someone up on that offer because it's a win/win situation...unfortunately I am not in that position.

I know it's a double standard, but I really think rather than just automatically assume the guy was a creep and up to no good, the better approach would have been to do a li'l research on him to find out what others have thought of his work....If he's a legit businessman, and if he sent his website info (or other business info) in that email/PM, then she could have easily checked him out and there would have been no need for this thread.....And just for the record, I know some horror stories about women that you wouldn't believe.....Being a creep isn't restricted to gender.....

If you read her initial and subsequent responses to me, you'd think differently. She was belligerent, condescending and rude from the start. As mentioned before, all she had to say was a simple "Thanks, but not interested." Instead I got "you are kidding , right? lmao" and after asking why she would think I was kidding her response was:

1. If you think your e-mail is appropriate for a 33 year old with great reviews AND a full time job, you are sadly mistaken.

That, course can go both ways. Sometimes the amount of work that goes into production is not worth the session associated with a barter.

However, if some research is done, each side can get reviews/examples of each others work ahead of time. Financially, it can be a win/win if both sides make sure each other is satisfied and the transaction equitable.

But do wary of any ole jerk with a camera. Ask to see some samples and for a reference or two if you want something more than simple snapshots.
