I would avoid any spas in Plano for a while. I think its matter of time they raid one of these places and catch a granny playing with a flagpole.

Is any related to the sun & shade on the list? anyone know? Also, according to the news article, it is clear that the bacon people know about and read this site. The reviews are killing the industry.

The court filing includes Exhibits of Reviews from Rubmaps and similar Tug-n-Go web sites. No reviews from eccie are presented as evidence.

Part of the City's claim is that, even after previous Solicitation Arrests at that location, Reviews show that those activities continued.

I don’t know why Thai Master is on this list. Maybe because they are in the same location as Dee Thai…which was busted. I have never had any hint of any extra activities here. The owner has spa in San Antonio as well…seems to be totally legit. I guess guilty by association…

The news report states that there were prostitution arrests at those seven locations this year. So that would be the reason for Thai Master being on the list.

I do understand the possibility that the PPD are ignoring the name change, and just tracking the address. The owner will probably be deposed at some future date, and her attorney can make clear that this was mistaken identity. But if the arrest occurred after the name change, then her legal issues will continue beyond the deposition.

The city is also going after the Landlords. I wouldn't be surprised if several of these businesses get kicked out for Lease violations.

Yeah, Plano has a large number of massage spots (indicative of demand?). I'd opine that the large majority offer L1. Also opinion, but I don't think those attract that much attention from Plano LE, rather those that offer higher levels tend to get the attention.

That said, civil actions (lawsuits) may well be more effective than enforcement. It may also be more costly for the city/cities than enforcement.

Civil Court violations are probably both less expensive as well as easier to convict.

Civil cases:
A judge alone commonly hears a civil case (though it can also include a jury),
Only need to prove the allegation by a “preponderance of the evidence” or by “clear and convincing standards.”

Criminal cases:
Usually consist of a trial by jury.
Prosecutor must prove that the defendant is guilty of committing the crime “beyond a reasonable doubt.”
