Thanks, chizzy!

I may have to bump this old thread I started 18 months ago in the Political Forum. It's been evident for some time that the 2017 tax cuts were (and still are) a resounding success!

https://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=2844405

Tommy - can you read and understand a graph?

Here's one that explains why the US corporate tax rate needed to be cut. Prior to 2017, we had the highest corporate rate among all 34 OECD countries... it was a big drag on our economy and definitely not something to brag about!

Does any of this make a difference.
- Inflation, Period
- Gasoline and other Energy cost
- Groceries
- Healthcare cost. My healthcare cost is over $1,000.00 a month
- I have been texting with a friend this morning, the cost of eating out.
- Interest rates went from 2 3/8 to 7 now. This is a killer on the economy. This is do to Biden Covid handouts to buy votes. Same goes for the student loan forgiveness he’s been trying.
All this hurts working people.

To compete with other countries to keep jobs in America our corporate tax rate needs to be at even lower than other countries do to other countries having lower labor rates.
Some don’t get this if employed by government agencies all their life or living off government handouts.

But that's just me. Seems like a pretty shitty trade-off for some temporary tax cuts.
This is Joe Biden?

If you make between 10 and 20K in income, taxes are going from 10 percent to 12 percent.

Literally, if you make 20K, you are at the poverty level in most cases, so, we are taxing those who make under 10K 10% and scraping another 2% off the working poor.

Are those the hated corporations you speak of?

I would suppose most people earning under 20K would be incorporated wouldn't they?

Now, all that aside, how can you justify taxing people at all who live in poverty?

Oh, I know, I guess its fair to have them chip in for their kids free school lunches, that all the people on welfare get for free, without having to work at all..

SO, explain again why anyone would bother to work for 20K a year, have some pride and some ambition to get ahead when its far easier to get it all for free.

What is the current standard deduction? People at poverty level generally don't get taxed much. If they have children they do rather well at tax time.

Here's. Two example

1. Married couple no. Kids. Standard deduction 27,700.00. So the first 27 k made is. Tax free. The next 11k is only 10% tax

2. Say we have a mother with a kid. She would file as head of household and the first 20k is tax free. Plus child. Credits. She would not only pay no federal taxes, she would get around 6k from the feds, plus she is on food. Stamps and free health care which. By the way is much better than private Healthcare or Medicare with a. Supplement for seniors.
1 dollar for any prescriptions and zero co-pays for anything including eye and dental

Try getting that

As always, republican bullshit talking points that keep their stooges ill-informed and brain dead. It's how they keep the fools continuing to vote for them. Push out propaganda, bullshit, and lies. The insurrectionist treasonist traitor tRump tax cut was just another massive break for the wealthy and corporations at the expense of the national debt which increased 7.8 trillion under the insurrectionist treasonist traitor tRump. It's not bringing in the revenue that the asshole insurrectionist treasonist traitor tRump and his band of extremist radical right-wing media keeps harping about because the big corporations funneled the money to for lavish bonuses to the Top as always. That rich get richer because their greed knows no bounds. They want to control as much money as possible. Now the republicans and especially maga nitwit jackasses in congress want to do away with and eliminate social security and Medicare so they can keep lining the pockets to the super rich. The insurrectionist treasonist traitor tRump's tax cut is a absolute scam and a joke, but what would you expect from any and all things maga....a fucking joke.

It's true, the national debt exploded under trump. Even Desantis called him out on that one. But thank Jeebus for those tax cuts 🙏

I'm mature enough to admit being wrong on that. I was not including businesses that. Are sole owners with no employees
When I said that. I don't include Jim's lawn cutting or Emma's cleaning service that have no employees.

But you still don't take into account that the only corps that maybe get away with no taxes are non profit like upmc and I don't really know if that's correct or not

The majority of corps are s corp and they all pay taxes but in this manner of an example

Tommy and chizzy set up a corp called Tom and chiz sex toys
As an s corp, we need to pay a salary for both of us since we are the owners and making the profits for the corp. Now let's say we both get a salary of 50k. We pay taxes on that just like anyone else.. at the end of the year our corp nets a profit of 100k.... well the corp pays nothing in federal tax on that but whether we take that profit out of the corp or leave it there to. Invest next year, we still have to each claim 50k on our federal taxes as distribution and we pay taxes on that

So the tax man gets his either way tommy. Maybe that might make I more clear to what I'm saying

Read the report from the treasury... no reduction in tax receipts with the Trump tax bill...

The debt I creased under Trump because of higher spending largely due to the covid pandemic. It is still increasing under Biden because of all the spending on the wars and everything else Biden has done like the student loan forgiveness

It doesn't take much brains to realize if u spend like a drunken sailor u r going gto be in debt.

Raising taxes on businesses, corporations or what have you only hurts the middle class. These businesses move overseas or cut jobs.
