Well, they got Benton with the next pick. Geez, I’m uncanny. So, Coach T said they didn’t have any glaring weaknesses. So what did he do? Pick the positions where they had glaring weaknesses!!!!!!

Lt, Cb and Nt

Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia. Another freak athlete from Georgia. Mostly used as a blocker in the running game. I thought the Steeler TE group was one of their strengths. But he slipped to 93. There are some concerns about his knee injury. But he’s a big, physical, athletic guy. 6-7, 265lbs.

The Steelers definitely improved their red zone options.

No secret why Georgia has won 2 championships in a row. They crush people.

Looking like a very good draft so far. Great move getting both Jones and Joey Jr. I'm looking for Jr. to learn a lot from Pat Pete. Hopefully the D lineman can jump in the rotation right away. Give Cam and Larry time to breathe. Leal should be able to play a lot as well.

Kudos to the rookie GM, the future HOF coach, and also to Weidle. It's been a strong off season for the great franchise.

Maybe they will keep 4 TE. They didn't renew Derek Watt, so that leaves an extra roster space, and between these 4 guys they should be able to fill in just about everything he does.

Steelers grab Nick Herbig! Another pash rusher from Wisconsin. Steelers now have 3 sets of brothers and the son of a former Steeler. A 79 Pirate vibe going on here.

Corey Trice CB. 6-3 215lbs. He’s almost as big as Mel Blount and as fast as Porter. He’s injury prone. ACL and ankle injury. Looks like a safety to me. Another big athlete

Last pick, Spencer Anderson, OG. I don’t know anything about him and don’t care. The Steelers crushed the draft. A+.

What they did in the off-season and draft, their rebuild will be seamless. No tanking or years of losing. Will they be legit SB contenders? That depends on Pickett. If he develops into a top 12 QB, yes. Time will tell. It always does. But I’m optimistic. Physical teams win most of the time. They got way more physical.

The NFL channel, which I’m watching now, ranked the Steelers draft #1. fWIW.
