I honestly hear the term woke used significantly more often by conservative news outlets as a term of derogatory meaning , to demonize democrats, when I see an equal "woke-ness" on both sides.

To me woke seems to simply be, "aware of events, activities or action and ideology that is vastly out of sync from a personal perspective". I don't hear the term used at all in left leaning news cycles but rather they use the term MAGA, in similar meaning.

They seem to now be slurs vs ideology and honestly I see Woke as a bi- partisan adjective. But lacking is accepted ideas due to media presentation. There needs to be more reaching across aisles vs further attempts to sow division with the use of slang terms as described above. My 2+ cents

The similar term of previous generations was "tin ear".

I thought that was an antonym, since tin ears didn't have the right sensitivity and couldn't perceive the subtlety and nuance.

How about an animal, such as a cat, suddenly aware and able to understand its surroundings on a human level.

Would that be a form of "woke" ?
