I am not starting a thread about Whitmer because my response was not about Whitmer. It was about your false statement that "she can't just make shit up if it's not there."

I have given you two examples in this thread now how law enforcement (in particular the FBI) just made shit up when it was not there. So you are wrong - deranged people (and Leticia James is clearly deranged) make shit up all the time and think they can get away with it

Well it looks like the days of Trump saying that I can't show my my financials cause they are under audit, are over.

House panel announces agreement to get Trump financial records:

WASHINGTON, Sept 1 (Reuters) - A U.S. House of Representatives committee said Thursday it had reached an agreement with Donald Trump and accounting firm Mazars USA on handing over some of the former president's financial records.

"After numerous court victories, I am pleased that my committee has now reached an agreement to obtain key financial documents that former President Trump fought for years to hide from Congress," said Representative Carolyn Maloney, chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform.

The agreement ends litigation by Trump, the panel's statement said.

Representatives for Trump and Mazars did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In July, a U.S. appeals court largely upheld a congressional subpoena seeking financial records from Trump's accounting firm.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit unanimously ruled that the Democratic-controlled House committee can obtain records from a period surrounding Trump's 2016 campaign and his time in office.

The committee in April 2019 issued a subpoena seeking eight years of accounting and other financial records as part of its investigation into what Maloney called Trump’s "unprecedented conflicts of interest, self-dealing, and foreign financial ties."

She said the agreement includes the handing over of "critical documents" that will help the panel in its investigation.

The committee's subpoena came in response to the testimony of Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer. Cohen said Trump had inflated and deflated certain assets on financial statements between 2011 and 2013 in part to reduce his real estate taxes.

The panel said it wanted to find out whether illegal actions had taken place.

What a shit storm Donnie is in now. The delay tactics are over, and he's gonna have to answer for why his buildings were high value when they were getting mortgages, and low when he was paying taxes.

Of course the Repturds will say that's ok, he just lied a little on his taxes, and it's only a little illegal to do that, so we should just look the other way. The hypocrisy is rich when the interest in Hunter's income is a way better diversion from anything that would impune the fat orange tax fraud.

Well well well,. Trump Organization guilty on ALL CHARGES.

I'm certain he'll appeal, but this could be the end of the Trump organization in New York, and watching A pompous asshole in a trench coat who thinks he's a mafia crime Boss, being kicked in the balls and told to get the fuck out and not come back.

Let's reset those expectations. Trump Corp, guilty on all charges. Trump Payroll company guilty on all charges.

Maximum fine of $1.5 million. No mechanism to dissolve either entity. There maybe some difficulty for them to continue to do business in some capacities, obtain certain loans, work on some jobs, land certain constracts, etc. but it's still possible for them to function within the state of NY.

you got there just ahead of me. from an article just out on this ..

"As punishment, the Trump Organization could be fined up to $1.6 million — a relatively small amount for a company of its size, though the conviction might make some of its future deals more complicated."

By no means a nothing burger. The implications of the criminal conviction would be substantially more costly than the fine, in terms of both hit to goodwill and the restrictions that will affect their future opportunities.

The depositions generated by this case can play into the ongoing civil litigation as well. And other matters not yet in play.

So no, it's not as bad as what some were hoping for or fearing... but by no means is it as marginal as you want to portray it.

It certainly is damning for a guy who is running for POTUS. Should be just bail now, or let the rest of the Republicans use him as carrion for the crows?

I think Trump might be more worried about loans being called in than getting them. Deutsche Bank seems to be done with him. That's not good. I'd say that all those flagged Trump transactions for money laundering took their toll. Last I heard he owed them in the neighborhood of $340 million. Didn't he offer up a golf course to stay solvent?

I don't see anymore Russian oligarch's like Dmitry Rybolovlev in the ready to funnel him money. Not sure how many millions Russians spent on Trump property. I'd say that's over.

He could keep ripping donors off, but that might be ending. For some reason people want to eat before paying those invoices that just show up in them mail.

I'm not saying that no one will deal with him, time will tell. A fool and his money are soon parted.

So the Trump Org (not President Trump) with hundreds of millions in annual revenue, was found guilty for being off with around $106,000 a year.

Guilty as in the CFO in charge of the books took benefits for himself rather than payroll to cut his tax bill.

Meanwhile Trump himself was never implicated and the maximum penalty of is a $1.62 million fine.

That's the best they could do after investigating the man for half a decade ??? Exactly how much taxpayer money did the crazed Manhattan prosecutor waste on this witchhunt? Certainly more than the potential $1.6 million fine.

Yep basically a big nothing burger

I'd say a lot more than a nothing burger. Trump's name wàs used throughout the testimony and while he wasnt named for anything personally in this trial, Trump's days in court will only get higher and higher in volume and by implications. Already it's enough for many supporters to leave and is certainly enough to be used by other ambitious Republicans to all jump on and use him as a negative to the party. That plus his hand picked winners for the midterms we're a bust in a large way.

Nothing burger?
More like shoefly pie and Trump stepped in it.

Course you should be a good lil Donnie-donor, and keep sending your monthly tithe to him. " My money don't jingle-jingle....it folds".

remember a few years ago a Las Vegas consortium said they were considering suspending name license payments to Trump? they didn't. why? because to do it legally they'd have to suspend their own dividend payments. went nowhere. for obvious reasons.

no bank can legally call in a loan early. only if Trump can't make the payments .. only then can they call default.

and all politicians rip off voters. they all keep their war chests. Trump isn't doing anything Pelosi or Shumer of any other politician in modern US politics hasn't. maybe we should change that ... yes?
