The immediate benefit of decriminalization is sex workers being able to go to the authorities without fear of reprisal when crimes are committed against them. After that, the greater the level of organization the greater the cost. While a freelancer's tax burden is what she declares, a licensed business can't dodge that easily. And if you have to provide healthcare to your workers, the cost is going to be higher given their work and because we have the highest healthcare cost in the world.

And after it all, you still don't have any barriers to human trafficking despite being "legal", so it doesn't solve that problem.

So it's either all illegal or it's legal and government is just as involved as in any other business.

Well fair enough I wouldn't doubt it was Bill leading the assault on Waco and leaving her to take the heat who knows? I think Reno was responsible for a lot of the satanic panic stuff in the '80s in her previous job in Florida including a lot of people going to jail for stuff that never happened. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't single her out as an authoritarian sort of feminist.

Same old song some one else said here, if they REALLY wanted to root out alleged sex slavery and sex slavery trafficking, they'd legalize it and regulate it.

But, they wont because that's not an actual concern of theirs.

9 out of 10 of them are involved somehow with it

I can promise there are people who voted for this law as well as others who will aggressively carry it out who have been to the AMPS and studios themselves. The funny part of the law will be when the AMPS, Studios, or girls out a few of them.

Very few people on this board are pro trafficking. Most are in reality VERY anti-trafficking. Pretty well played when you consider that they turned what could have been their best allies into their biggest enemies. But of course, trafficking was never really their concern.

It's like the diatribe against Backpage. The parents are like 'it took us 48 hours to find our daughter on Backpage being turned out after she ran away because of bad grades'. Now imagine if they didn't have Backpage to easily find their academically challenged daughter which would be the case now as several police departments have lamented.

Anyway I'm sure the war on sex won't stop here they will target porn next. As long as a man has the alternative to jerk off to porn or buy sex there will be some group of women ruminating due to their loss of a death grip over their man's gonads in hysterics that all sorts of commercialized sexuality must be crushed.

Mistrial was declared in a Backpage case this week.

That's good news. It's funny though I keep an eye on the headlines and I didn't see that mentioned anywhere.
I guess there is double jeopardy though as they're going to try them again. I guess that's what the owners of Backpage get for angering the McCains.
