Does no one else like Jakes or Pappas in FW?
A friend tried in and out in FW on first day and was not impressed--burger good, not great and fries mediocre.

Forgot about the Jakes in Dallas on Skillman....good burger but not a fan of the poppy seed bun. I always request the plain bun.

I even like Chili's burgers and often choose them over Five Guys and Kincaids when I'm near them. Haven't tried the Texas I&O's but like the Left Coast ones.

Love Shack - one is Stockyards is better than on 7th in my opinion.
Owe it to yourself to try M&O diner in Fort Worth. Greek burger is incredible.
Salsa Fuego darn good as well.
I have not tried In & Out here, but was not too turned on by all the fuss when I have had them in Cali. Perhaps it I had grown up on them it would be different.

Ya'll are just wrong. Leave bigbob alone.

If Whataburger is the "SHIT", is that a good or bad thing?

Kincaids was at one time the best burger in FW. After Mr. Gentry died and his son took over it was never the same. I was eating there in the 60's. Had a charge acct. (parents) . Mr. G also had a great plate lunch , home cooked veggies , pot roast, chicken fried steak etc. For a chain burger it's hard to beat a Whataburger w/cheese, extra lettace and tomatoes.

JR's Grill in Grapevine/Colleyville, right off 121 at Hall Johnson, $10 and tough to beat. One burger will do it for you.
I'm going to hit the In and Out in Ft Worth as soon as the crowd dies down a little.

I heard JR's had an awesome burger but I thought it was much more than $10. Someone told me it was a $20 lunch. I guess with tax, drink, tip, etc.

This just shows how peoples taste is different, I would eat a P&B sandwich before I went back to In & Out, I have tried three different one's when I was in California and they just SUCK. McDonald's taste better and I dislike McDonald's but they are fast and everywhere.

Sometimes just the novelty drives people crazy. I lived in Jacksonville a few years ago and a Kohls clothing store opened there and you would have thought they invented clothes.
They had to have police directing traffic in the parking lot for the first few days.

In-N-Out
While everything is fresh, fresh cut, and never frozen, the beauty of In-N-Out is the value equation. $3.25 for a Double-double is hard to beat.
Other places offer great burgers but at what price?
5 Guys? Think $10. Chips? Think $12. etc.
I agree on the fries. If you don't have them there (or if you are like me), order them "extra crispy" or "well done" and the soft fry issue is no longer an issue.
The lines are out of control, whether it be Caruth Haven, Allen, Frisco, 635/75 or wherever. I'll get around to Mid-Cities and FW when my travels take me there.
