That really wasn't specific.I was just wondering how long do you think the shutdown should continue. There's no reason for the attitude it's just a question..

they won't.. the US has done its best to devalue the dollar for many years, and it keeps staying strong, because our economy is the strongest, and other currencies aren't worth shit in comparison. the whole Globe has been on an asset price pump with corresponding currency dump for decades. real GDP doesn't cut it anymore.

Trump's Plan is extremely broad and non-committal.. all I got from it is he capitulated to his Advisors and admitted Governors have control.

it is fine and constructive, for what it is. a ton of "what if's" have to occur to get to phase 3. and from my POV, most of the Country has been in phase 1 for weeks. Texas, for example, so when Trump says some States are ready tomorrow, I think "duh", we have been in Phase 1 for a month.

The Economy shutdown and quarantines will continue as long these so called leaders can fool the people into believing their efforts are necessary.

Yeah, I think you are going to continue to see a window of May 1 to June 1 and so far all are going exactly down the road of the phased re-opening approach just as Trump laid out.

Here in PA, I'm hoping for an opening kind of like the shutdown occurred. Most of the state to open with some longer term phase in for certain counties like toward the Philly area.

In many ways Philly is more like NY/NJ than the rest of PA. It was shutdown well before the rest of the state.

Until we get more widespread testing, I don't see how we can avoid resurgence in areas that open prematurely. One of the more cunning aspects of COVID-19 is how asymptomatic people can spread the disease (one assumes, unknowingly). Look at the USS Roosevelt, which except for rotating flight crews is an isolated city unto itself: 92% tested, 655 of 4800 sailors tested positive. https://www.military.com/daily-news/...-symptoms.html

1% of the population has been tested. Even my daughter, who is a nurse in a big Austin hospital and has worked on COVID-19 patients can't get a test until she shows symptoms. WTF?

Test, trace contacts, quarantine the positives. Build confidence in the populace that it is relatively safe to work, shop, hobby. Until then, I will lay low.
