TX_hammer is correct it's going to be a while before AMPs re-open. Business are most likely to be opened in stages. If they open to soon, they could be aggressively targeted and harassed for posing a public health risk.

COVID-19 is a game changer not only for AMPs but for the general society. Social distancing and other mitigation measures will be with us for the foreseeable future. For example, I'm doubtful there will be NFL or NCAA football games this year. Gyms or movie theatres are not likely to open soon either. AMPS operating in that environment will be a target for the health authorities.

I think any business where social distancing is problematic will be severely impacted and slower to recover. When no one knows who's infected, will most people sit in a stadium with 80K or 100K screaming fans (airborne transmission) for 3 hours? Will people sit in a crowded movie or bar? Will people get on an airplane? Do you want to use exercise equipment after 100s of other people or go into a sauna or steam room?

I'm not a fear monger. I go grocery shopping and restaurants occasionally for pickup. I don't have a mask. If the gyms open up, I will be in there for a workout. The next PPV fight (Canelo v GGG) I will be at the sports bar to watch.

However, there are risks and health concerns. No one fully knows all the characteristics of this virus. Several experts state that it is not the flu. It seems highly contagious but no one exactly how it spreads (talking, regular conversation?). The lethality is unknown (0.1% or 3.0%). Does it only take out the elderly or sick? Does heat, summer weather impact it like the flu? How quickly will hot spots flare up? Will it mutate? Can people become immune? How long?

As I understand viruses, all viruses are like the flu. You can't eradicate them. They are RNA, so they mutate. So, health science folks learn as much as they can about it and come up with vaccines and treatments. Then, they monitor cases and adjust those vaccines & treatments to keep it controlled.

As for business in America, as cases drop & treatment improves, folks will go back to life as usual...unless the politicians try to control it.

Final thoughts: Infectious diseases can be controlled by spending the money to do it. Politicians and the Media can be controlled by taking away the money.

Corona Virus has already mutated a shit load. Take a guess at how many times and then go look at nextstrain.org. Next strain/genome probably causes your balls to fall off.

the subject is (or was) AMPs opening up. the social distance rules say 10 or fewer people in an Office or business space. AMPs typically have 10 or fewer. you might be one-on-one with a single individual, but that's all. I can tell you the other day I had more close contact (3 feet or less distance) at Walmart on a single visit, than ALL AMP visits covering the past 2 years.

visiting an AMP is like getting a haircut, getting your nails done. close proximity to one person, that's really it. the virus risk is WAY LOWER than a visit to even a non-crowded grocery store.
