Gross domestic product (GDP) refers to the market value of all final goods and services produced within a country in a given period.

A company pays income tax. Most pay at a higher rate than us. That tax is added to the cost, value of the product. As part of the cost to make the product. Not forgetting that each part that goes into that product was also taxed.

So if you take a so called US made car. The Tax has been the fastest growing cost in making a car for years. And that tax is part of the "value of" in GDP.

in other words GDP in the end is mostly tax. So they will raise the Tax on the rich and on company's. The value of the car goes up. We stay at the same tax rate.

therefor are tax rate compared to GDP, as you did is crap

And so as the cost of the car goes up. fewer are sold. more folks are laid off. and on on the welfare tit. and than raise the tax on the company again.

We are about to have more people on the us tit than pay tax. mmmmm
but that's ok just raise that GPD again in tax.

Let me guess......Rush Limbaugh, right?

You're full of mularkey, but for shits and giggles, let's assume you're correct. Then what criteria should we use as a comparison point, OSD?

Overall revenues are not keeping with historical trends.

Overall revenues in constant dollars are well under historical trends.

Effective tax rates for everyone are at historic lows.

And as i've stated, revenues as a percentage of GDP are at historic lows.

So pick your poison, OSD. Which point of comparison do you want to use?

Or maybe you have some figures that can convince me we're over-taxed on the federal level, like you right-wingers want to claim.

They are all crap. Unless you know of a way of stopping them from printing and making more magic money. And paying with inflated dollars. Oh that right inflation is part of GDP.

Now that's value. So if we need to all pitch in. Lower value of food stamps, SSI, welfare, etc, etc, etc. And stop inflation, bite the bullet payoff are bills. Lay off 3/4 of are government. epa, usda, mmmmm make a flat tax and lay off irs. I can look up others to just delete. fanny and freddie are useless

No most of are government has become like my boat. A hole in the water to place money. But not as fun. So lets delete the the many that do nothing. MMMM can not remember the name of it. But the department that was set up to make sure ever farm had electric if wanted. Was a good idea then. But just why is it still up and running now. We could have keep NASA going for what that costs now. And take a ride in the sticks Can you find a road that wants power that does not already.

yes I am sure 3/4 of it are a waste. so delete

Yes.. they are ALL crazy.. completely.. totally. Otherwise, they would have a real job. Politics is supposed to be a hobby.. an assignment with the reality of life before and after..

That guy is an idiot. We have tried trickle down economics time and time again. IT DOES NOT WORK. Corporate profits are at all time highs. Executive payroll is at an all time high, the gap between worker and executive pay is wider than ever. They sit on their fat corporate board asses while the line worker is ecxpected to do more work for the same pay ('cause they "downsized"). I don't see any of them creating jobs.
Jobs are created through consumption. If people have money they buy stuff. If they buy stuff the companies need to make more so they hire people and that create more jobs and more people pay taxes. When everyone is scared to spend money 'cause the economy sucks and they are worried about their job the economy suffers.
Someone needs to tell these assholes to hire people and stop being so damn greedy

Well it would help to untie the hands of US company's. So they can compete without going offshore. Are government is driving them to run. The US worker does cost more than outside of US. But remains more productive. Government keeps making it harder to stay here. And in the end some one is buying. As ships keep bring the goods to the west. With most to stay in the US. Some of it takes the land bridge train to east to get on another ship. But most of it stays.

If this were true, Somalia would be booming.

First rule of economics: There are unlimited wants and limited resources.

The economic system determines how those limited resources get allocated.

Right now there is tremendous economic pressure to manufacture goods outside the US to avoid regulation and to take advantage of less expensive labor.

We will not have a strong economy unless or until it makes economic sense to manufacture or farm or provide IT services in the US instead of in Singapore, Argentina, or India.

...and now I will try again to keep my mouth shut and not talk economics or politics on a board intended for women to please men within an important service industry.

you guys..i posted that link..because the guy made some points that I happened to agree with..regardless who's running the country and the choices they choose to make for this country I still have to live with it and how it affects my family and my children...and our future in this country...

i did not post that link to start a flames..and if ya'll know me as a person and have actually met me..you'd understand that.....

and really insulting a man for the way he thinks is just insulting...and it shows your arrogance..

Ya'll can toss around facts all ya want..the simple truth of the matter is..this country is screwed up and it's not one individuals fault..its a mass of folks that chose to have it run that way because of how it would affect their family and their families future...
