www.marrow.org isthe website for the national bone marrow program. When I donated to help alittle girl the program paid for the donation. Not sure how it works when you are family but you might want to look into it. The local chapter in for worth is full of help people and might be able to point u in the right way. Hope this helps

What other therapies have they been using for your son? I'm assuming that this has been a chronic condition for them to be considering a BMT as a treatment option.

Also, I'd file an appeal with Medicaid. In general, Medicaid does not dismiss treatment in patients under 18 where "percentages" are concerned. The 5 year cure rate for glioblastoma is only 10%, but Medicaid will still cover all the surgeries, radiation, and chemo required to offer a chance of cure... albeit slim.

The Scouts are covered by insurance when on Scouting activities. Have you inquired about their insurance covering this since it is related to a Boy Scout outing?

Brit, sorry for your situation. Many years ago I found myself in a similar situation when my daughter was diagnose with leukemia. My doctor suggested Shriners Childrens Hospital. I took her there and they treated her which include bone marrow transplant at absolutely no charge. They don't even have a billing department. Don't know how old your son is but if he is still a child I would suggest you check with them. they are great people. Best to you and your son.

Ahh yes, like the dancer that explained to you (in front of me-I witnessed firsthand) how your review caused her to have to move, spend money on a plane ticket, and caused her to lose visitation of her kid, not to mention cause her mom to think she was a whore. And she was crying most of the time in front of us. So I gave her a hundred to help with the ticket, no strings attached. however, you're making a request for assistance for a very serious and very costly medical condition. and some folks might be skeptical about this kind of a post [remember the nitwitboy thread and saga??].

so, to head off stuff like durango posted, i suggest you contact a verified and reputable provider [for example, fawn or december love], show her the info, and then let her report back about this situation.
