Look I dont really give a shit what and when it was changed the bottom line is that the pledge as currently constituted includes the words under God, indivisible. So if you are going to do it do it right.

I am a lifelong Roman Catholic and have never wavered on the pledge. I still have not to this day! With that said, I remember a guy who was assigned to my unit in Nam who was an atheist. At that tender age, I had never been around an atheist and really thought it strange. I can't say that I ever became close friends with him but he was a hell of a good soldier. I never heard anyone complain about going on patrol with him. In that regard he was very well respected but admittedly, he was somewhat of an outcast.

In hindsight, I have to believe that the fact he did not pray or speak of God did not make him any less of a soldier or any less of an American. Bottom line, he was willing to die for his country but unwilling to pray to God for it! Far be it from me to pass judgement!

Mr. Foxtrot how in the world could Fox News or any of us be at all worried about anyone allegedly trying to destroy Christianity and make us a secular country we arent even a christian nation according to President Obam or perhaps a major news network possilbly leaving out of the Pledge of Alligance the words under god out of a national broadcast on air on purpose might me a place to start. And I think we were already somewhat of a hysterical nation long before Fox came on the air. What with the Republicans not caring about anything except the wealthy and lining the pockets of fat cats. Well said, sir.

As a non-believer, I'm totally cool with the omission. What annoys me is the NBC's lack of balls in standing by their move. I think both sides are way too sensitive about the issue. These kind of archaic issues are manufactured to create teams. There's only one team: humanity.

(I'm well aware of how corny that was)

That's bullshit. The phrase in no way establishes a religion.

I'm not religious but I am not offended by those that are. Get over it.

Wow, Fox did that. They must be the most powerful company in the country.

No, but the establishment clause doesn't just refer to establishing a state religion, it clearly calls for a separation of church and state, thus my comment. Same with money.

I too am a Roman Catholic, but I firmly believe that no law should impose my religious views on anyone else. For example, I don't believe in abortion but that is my own personal belief. I also believe every person should be allowed to make their own choices, regardless of what I believe.

"They must be the most powerful company in the country."

Budman, I could easily put Fox News Channel in that category.
