I think it was something that had been planned for a while for the award ceremony at Illinois U. The Woodward book and “amonymous” just happened to hit earlier in the week.

Madeleine Albright fled authoritative leaders twice in her life. First, she left Czechoslovakia with her family after the Nazi occupation in 1939. Repatriated after the war, she and her family left Czechoslovakia for a second time, in 1948, after the Communists took over the state.

Madeline was just a baby in 1939. she wouldn't know. However, she certainly had a taste of communism in 1948.
