Media Dreams of Impeachment While Congressional Democrats Shy Away
Cries for Donald Trump’s impeachment fill America’s airwaves. Every day brings new and “damning” evidence that it is time to remove this man from office.
MSNBC and CNN (among others) reporters, anchors and guests decry the word “impeach” in the same breath as “good morning” or “pass the salt.”
Speculation rages through the liberal media like a feeding frenzy among wolves. The liberal media wants revenge for their loss in the presidential election and they are acting upon this blood lust 24/7. American voters are idiots and they will set the record straight, they assume.
Ironically, most responsible Democrats in Congress remain mum on the use of that word. They shy away from discussing it on camera and play coy with reporters who insist on the topic.
While the media radiates in visions of Richard Nixon’s resignation in 1974, the party they manipulate and speak for remains silent aside from loose cannons like Rep. Maxine Waters who couldn’t lose an election in her district if she was wanted for mass murder.
So-called “journalists” on the left relish in speculation of Trump’s demise. They are so desperate for this false narrative they will create their own facts for the “newscasts” they conduct each day he resides in the White House.
Facts are of no value at MSNBC or CNN (among other news outlets). The operative word that builds their hysterical audience is “impeachment.” It sells advertising and steadies their ratings, which remain at record lows. The ironic part of all this is those very ratings would be even lower without Donald Trump.
But the very Democratic politicians the media props up want little or no part of this carnival of the insane. They understand impeaching a president is more than mere words. Their memory remains fresh with how Republicans fared in the 1998 midterms when they successfully impeached President Clinton. It wasn’t pretty.
It is more than wishful thinking for left-wing network commentators to expect 60 senators could convict the president instead of the required 67. Maybe professional opinion mouthpieces such as NBC’s Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie think its reality, but their livelihood isn’t on the line as they act like cheerleaders at a public hanging.
They ask “intelligent” questions that are well researched like Guthrie’s brilliant, “So is this gonna, in some way, be like the only issue in the midterms going forward?”
That well-thought-out question was four years of journalism school put to good use. But Todd’s answer is even better as he ponders, “I think it’s possible.”
The harsh reality for Democratic politicians being goaded by their media handlers is this: Rational Americans don’t want to impeach a president for something he might have done. And there is a growing anger among many potential voters that this is more about revenge than it is about any sort of justice.
The Democratic Party justifiably is fearful that such impeachment actions concerning what Trump did before taking office will explode in their faces. Many potential voters are asking themselves if the country has been in standstill motion for two years for this?
The leader of this impeachment frenzy is none other than billionaire Tom Steyer. Tom has nothing to lose. He’s putting up $120 million of his money to get the job done, but will most Democrat’s hold the torches and rope for him? No way.
Frightened Democrats fearful of their careers need look no further than Tom’s past judgments. His talent for picking winning candidates is horrible at best.
He’s already built a list of 5.5 million impeachment-crazed Americans, but they are not in jeopardy of incurring the wrath of the American electorate.
The media is having a field day with their endless talk of impeachment that is mostly contrived. They are doing the grunt work for scared Democrats in Washington. But if this goes forward, it won’t be Todd and Guthrie having their political careers scrutinized by an infuriated country.
Its like a 3 ring Circus at MSNBC AND CNN

Voters Care About the Economy and Immigration, Not Media Drama
President Donald Trump listens during a phone conversation with Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto on trade in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, D.C., on August 27, 2018. (Mandel
Democrats and left wing pundits from The New York Times to CNN can spend the entire day talking about Michael Cohen, Paul Manafort, or how offended they are by which flags are flying at half-mast and which ones aren’t. Here in the middle of America nobody cares. Trust me; in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Wisconsin all of the blathering is not moving the needle one bit. Most of those living in the middle tuned out a long time ago.
There are only two things voters living in the middle care about. They care about the economy and they care about immigration. Remember these are the same people that carried Donald Trump to victory in November 2016 and those are the very same things they cared about then.
While CNN was refusing to issue a correction about a major failure covering Michael Cohen and spending hours on whether or not President Trump is a bad guy for not issuing a timely statement on the death of Senator John McCain, Trump’s Administration was finishing the initial phases of a trade deal with Mexico to replace the 24-year-old NAFTA deal.
Guess which one the working people in the Midwest actually care about?
NBC Nightly News also missed the breaking news on the Mexican trade deal too it appeared. The once proud peacock strutted around focusing on President Trump raising flags on The White House to full staff before McCain has been buried. Was the president’s behavior bad form? Yes. Should he have done better and been more gracious at the death of a sitting Senator even though he’s been a bitter rival with the president? Yes. And honestly that is where the story ends for those in the center of the country. I’m sorry but they really don’t care that much about such things.
The new deal with Mexico that came complete with the Mexican president being put on speakerphone by Trump to talk about the deal is what hard working Americans actually care about.
People are not going to work today in Eau Claire or Bad Axe or Allentown wondering if Michael Cohen may have the goods on Donald Trump meeting with the Russians. We know he doesn’t of course now that Lanny Davis has admitted to making it up and being an anonymous source for numerous news outlets to spread the false story. But either way, the people that abandoned the Democrats and Hillary Clinton in 2016 to vote for President Trump really don’t care. Really.
Let me tell what else they don’t care about.
They don’t care if Paul Manafort paid his taxes. They don’t care if Donald Trump shows his. They don’t care about tearing down Confederate statues in the city park or screaming obscenities at the police. They don’t care about Global Warming or much of anything Al Gore has to say. They don’t care about social justice warriors, environmental justice warriors, and they certainly don’t care about man-buns. They don’t care what vulgarities Robert De Niro spews about Trump or about them for voting for him. They don’t care about Hollywood in general and don’t consider Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Moore, Bill Maher, Jennifer Lawrence, Lena Dunham, Mark Cuban or a hoard of other media types to be political experts. In fact most don’t consider those that play make believe for a living reliable sources for much of anything.
They also don’t care about Stormy Daniels, Karen McDougal, or anyone else the president may or may not have had affairs with. It just doesn’t matter to them because they have bigger concerns.
What these people do care about are their families and their futures. They are focused on an improving economy with booming numbers of job openings, improving wages on Main Street and big returns on Wall Street.
They care about their kids and don’t want their families torn apart like Mollie Tibbitts' family in Iowa. Tibbitts was allegedly brutally hunted down and murdered by a 24-year-old illegal alien from Mexico. They can identify with the horror of the killing and reject ideas about open borders and so-called sanctuary cities.
They don’t buy what far left midway hawkers are selling. They believe in America and her greatness.
They believe in the rule of law and like the majority of Americans they don’t think disbanding ICE is a good idea. They also support local law enforcement and don’t believe most police officers are racist or the enemy. They still believe police officers are the good guys.
In fact they think Americans are the good guys and are sick and tired of hearing people on the left tearing us down every day.
Trust me, the November Election comes down to just two things; the economy and immigration. Period.
Bank on it!

We will find out in a few weeks exactly how “voters” feel.
Hopefully, they’ll publish the results on “newsmax.”

The highlighted section of the long article is to me the most important part. Most Democrats do not share the viewpoint of Tom Steyer. Trump is not guilty of anything that would lead to impeachment. Bill Clinton was. Might something come out in the future that will be an impeachable offense by Trump? Possibly.
A while ago a friend of a Facebook friend posted that he thought Obama should be impeached. When I asked him on what charges, he said "treason". I came back and asked what Obama had done that would be considered treasonous and the silence was deafening.
My preference is that Trump runs in 2020 and is beaten.

2 years is a long way off. At this time in 2006 Obama was hardly on the radar screen as being the Democratic choice to run for POTUS in 2008. The people mentioned before him in a June 2016 poll? Clinton, Gore, Edwards, Kerry, Clark, Biden, Feingold, Warner, Daschle, and Vilsack. Obama not mentioned.
In my opinion, which I've stated often, the November elections will go a long way to telling people in this country how well voters think Trump is doing as leader of the nation. If Republicans maintain control of the House it will show that the Trump base continues to support him strongly and enough Independents do also. Trump will be able to proceed full speed ahead with his agenda. If Democrats win back control of the House, and especially if they win it back by a considerable margin, Republicans are going to start searching for answers for 2020. Trump's agenda will be stalled.

It seems legal scholars believe that an "impeachable offense" must be committed while the President is in office. That "concept" makes common sense, because the voters already decided he should be President and the electoral college did also.
I'm not sure what Bill Clinton did that was an "impeachable offense."

Bill Clinton committed perjury.
"After nearly 14 hours of debate, the House of Representatives approves two articles of impeachment against President Bill Clinton, charging him with lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstructing justice. Clinton, the second president in American history to be impeached, vowed to finish his term."
https://www.history.com/this-day-in-...nton-impeached
"The House of Representatives voted to impeach Clinton in 1998 on strict party lines, but in the Senate trial, Republicans fell short of the two-thirds majority needed to convict."

I continue to say that yes, Trump has done a fine job with the economy which is always toward the top of the list on voter's concerns. But I see other issues with his performance as POTUS and with his character that will sway voters in the other direction.
We will see in a little over 2 months who is right and who is wrong.

Depends on if their pay checks have gone up with the economy. They were tired of during rhe Obama years the economy doing well while their pay dropped.
