So Comey told "lawmakers", which probably included repubs, and they said nothing all this time and let flynn plead guilty?
There's probably more info than the tidbit in the story or someone would have said something.

The senario that might be unfolding is Flynn never broke a law. However, the Mueller Team threatened him with the old....."you might beat the rap, but the ride will bankrupt you".
At the time, just copping a plea might have been a good deal. Just let me get on with life.
But then a Judge catches wind of the Mueller Team's strong arm tactics, and wants to take a look.
Bad news for Mueller Team. In their zeal to pin something, anything, on President Trump, they just might have crossed the boundaries between legality and criminality.
