So guys...who lost it? Or did a Provider let it slip out of her purse? Very CURIOUS nobody claimed it...LOL!
You presume it was a withdrawal, if the money was intended for deposit Chase would have no record of it. Financial institutions are also required maintain a degree of confidentiality regarding customer transactions. It's really no ones business what happens to a withdrawal after it leaves their premises. Additionally 2k is not a large enough amount to generate a CTR for the government, so it wouldn't show up there.

i suggest you go read the entire story before speculating on which group of politicos did anything. here's a link to a followup story.
http://www.dallasnews.com/news/commu...las-police.ece

the original article i read in a paper copy of the newspaper said that after a 90 day period, the girl [who lives in plano] could get the money.
then dallas police [cos that's who she turned the money into; she found the money in a north dallas parking lot] said that there is a state law that says its a 120 day period. so the money was going into general treasury. a bit later in the article, the dallas police chief said he was starting a process to get the money back to her.

contributions started after the first news came out.

Is that, then, a premature withdrawal?!?

Can you believe the girl end up getting $7k in donation after the story broke?
That's pretty good returns. I'm going to stuff 2K and return it to my bank. Make your donations out to aka.

Ya know-- if I found 20 in a parking lot, I wouldn't worry about where it came from. But that level of money can sometimes be the difference between having a roof over your head or not--- I would have turned it in. In my younger years I found 500 in a parking lot-- turns out an elderly lady had just cashed her SS check. Had I kept the money, someone would have likely been without food that month.
