The movie was good but not as scary as I expected.

I think King wanted his book and the movie not to be exactly really scary but almost like a horror and adult version of Stand by Me. The mini-series sure as hell scared the hell out of people at the time. It was around that time when clowns were getting a bad rap.

Stephen King books and movies are overrated. The only ones that were OK were Salem's Lot and Silver Bullet because both had traditional or iconic horror genre characters. In other words, King retold old horror stories.

Curry is a much better Pennywise because he brought comedy to an evil role similar to Peter Sellers in Lolita. The new version is just gorier and had more CGI effects. You can watch the original mini-series by yourself and really get into. This cannot be said about the new version.

Eyes of the Dragon was a really good book.
