It's the simple things that make the hobby such a pleasure ;-)

I'm pretty new to the hobby, so I haven't had enough different incalls to have a strong opinion. I don't mind hotels, so long as they're decent and clean. Most front desk staff really couldn't give a shit about someone hanging out in the lobby or rushing past their desk. They don't know or remember every swinging dick who checks in. And if they work at a hotel and don't know that people have sexual liaisons in rooms where there are beds, then what the fuck are they doing working at a hotel?
The only concern I ever have walking into a hotel is running into someone I know. That's really unlikely to happen, but not impossible. But I can come up with a good reason to be just about anywhere, anytime.
Apartments I've visited for incalls are fine. The only real issue is the last one above: Will I run into someone who knows me as I'm going into this apartment? That could be a little harder to explain. Again, unlikely, because most of the providers I've visited do not live anywhere near my neighborhood.
But as someone else said, if you're not prepared to run these risks, get out of the hobby.

Hotels...just feels a little more discreet to me. Over the period of a 12 month lease neighbors pretty much know for sure what you're visiting for after about the 3rd month or so.

I prefer private incalls. While I've been to hotels for visits, and enjoy making noise for the rooms next to use to hear, I'd still prefer being in something more private.

Carry a briefcase. You're dropping off or picking up some business documents. (I was a "State Farm agent" at one lady's house.) Or personal documents. Or something for a coworker or friend. Or you're consulting with an interior designer or a relocation specialist or someone else who works out of her home. Or you needed a massage, and a friend recommended one who lives in an apartment.
There are lots of legit reasons to be somewhere you don't regularly visit. Not all will work for any individual, and there are some that won't work for anyone. But with a little forethought, it's possible.

PLEASE DON'T say THIS! Everything else sounds fine.

You saw her ad online, then. The point is that, depending on your situation, you should be able to come up with one or two plausible explanations for being somewhere that someone would not have expected to see you. Something over your head and sunglasses as you enter and leave the parking lot can also work you mitigate the risk.

Yep I went to see a girl and she was in low income housing. I sent her a text saying sorry don't feel comfortable here.

I wear the same disguise to all dates, in and out of the hobby.

Truly, if I could figure out a way to host at a private space that wasn't Airbnb when touring, that would be perfect. When I'm at home, my in call is private. But when I'm in another city, I've only ever used hotel rooms. I do try to mitigate some of the concerns I've heard about hotels by thoroughly researching each property before booking a room.
