This has nothing to do with Sessions directly, just the Dems trying to deligitmize Trump every chance they get. It worked with Flynn. I doubt Teump will cave on Sessions.

The senate doesn't have the authority to prosecute and convict. Otherwise Obama, Clinton and Kerry and a few others would be in prison by now. A special Prosecutor is needed and they need some highly compelling evidence to take the case. So far none has been presented.
