Ah that is basically what they are doing. This gun has been on the market for a number of years. You can go get it at Cabellas right now.

This is still the Land of the Free because we have our guns. Anyone who thinks otherwise can go suck a Commie/Democrat or get fucked by one.

I suppose the new Sig offering will be a great side arm. At least one version of it will hold 17 rounds. At the very least you can scare the shit out of the enemy.

m17 was specced to the tune of 350 pages. none of the gun manufacturers understood the specs.
the procurement needs reform.

I still miss the good ole .45 auto from Colt. Like to have that hammer that I can put at half cock. Today I carry a Ruger 9E. It feels real good in the hand, it's fairly light, and it carries 17 rounds but I like to have a hammer. Last week, I removed from the holster in the lining of my jacket. It was on "FIRE" and not safe anymore. The Colt had so many common sense safeties that the new pistols are missing.

Which model Melissa? What caliber?
And I do adore women who invest in heavy metal. Less reason to find a damsel in distress too late.

Ruger "American" 9MM. Three modules for the grip, two magazines 17 round each, a hair over 400 bucks.
For 17mil that would supply about 40,500 pistols.
How many military personnel do we have?
The big question is: Did we spend 17mil shopping and only decided which guns to buy or does that 17mil include a certain quantity of guns.

I carry, (where allowed by law), a Glock 43. Not the stacked magazine model, just the thin grip.
It's the AK-47 of pistols. Not the prettiest, and not the most accurate. But, it always works with a minimum amount of fumbling around.
I also own several "pretty" pistols, and several very accurate pistols. My favorite of those is a 6 inch barrel, nickel plated Colt Python in 357 magnum of early '70's vintage.

9mm too small and hot.
Sounds nice "my 9 mil," but that was a "purpose" for the 45.

Melissa, with all due respect, a handgun is less than perfect fo home defence.
A Mossberg or Remington Short Pump Shotgun in either 20 or 12 gage would be far more affective.

These threads usually end up in the same place ....
... "glitzy" one liners without much background ..
http://www.handgunsmag.com/reviews/p...step-backward/
She still hasn't figured out the caliber yet. A big problem with a firearm for "home defense" is "containment" of the fired round ...
.. most neighbors don't like stray rounds flying into their homes!
The U.S. Marshal's Office (and air marshals) address that issue by ammunition selection ... soft ball, slow loads. That is an advantage to "shot" as well as stopping power.
Don't know the details on weapon/loads, but a CHL carrier shot a robber in a mall in San Antonio the other day, and IMO if one is going to carry then one needs to study up on rounds/loads for crowded conditions. Additionally one needs to train for instinctive shooting in those conditions, which most ranges cannot and/or will not accommodate due to liability issues.
The shooter is "responsible" for the destination of the round.
