I guess you can't tell the difference between a spike and and trend Longer. Those are official terms. The spike comes from events, circumstances, and speculators. It is temporary. The trend is more permanent. Welcome to the new normal...

The trend is upwards as well. I looked at plenty of charts when I was searching for the one that I posted.
I pretty much said as much when I used the word "rebound".
Furthermore, when you find the charts that show the trend, you'll notice that it was very flat until early in the Bush presidency. You'll also notice that the projections show gas prices at the pump hitting the new car sales ceiling pretty soon. (New car sales will go tits up when gas hits $X per gallon.) You might want to start looking at buying a car later this year. Anything except a hybrid like a Chevy Volt or Prius. Those will be hot items.

We've gone through this before if you remember correctly. I refer to him as Bush Jr. because when I have discussions with some people and refer to a Bush president someone always asks, "Which Bush?" So, its easier to say Bush Jr. than to keep answering the question. I have never found it to be an insult, it is what it is, just a shorter answer.
I'm not the only one who does it. TONS of people have done it and I'm not following the sheep, its just easier to say.
