It is easy to be paranoid and to become paranoid.
1. Do your research on ECCIE or P411, it can be more reassuring on ECCIE.
2. To get your creds, work with providers on the newbie friendly sticky.
3. See if she will meet for coffee or lunch, this really does ease the heeby-.geebies.
4. At coffee, lunch or drinks just talk as if she is a normal person (don't be too surprised when you find out she is). If you feel comfortable ask for an appointment. If she is comfortable she will say yes.
5. If you don't do the coffee, lunch, drinks thing that's ok. She will tell you what she is comfortable doing.
6. In communication follow her rules unless you become to uncomfortable. If she has a showcase or has updated her profile properly, she will give her do's and don'ts. Follow them.
7. If you have chosen wisely (remember the first tip was research), she will set an appointment after her screening of you, she will tell you when to confirm the appointment, she will provide general directions to get you started, and once in the parking lot or correct street she will give you final instructions.
8. If you get lost, run late, whatever, let her know. If you do not get an immediate reply, don't freak out, she is probably getting ready and does not have her phone in the shower with her. Remember, if you chose wisely, she will know you are nervous and will try to put you at ease.
9. If you do freak out and send a hundred texts with no reply, you probably pissed her off. Move on.
10. It has been my standard mantra since starting in the hobby, if the provider is cautious, she is more than likely safe. When she feels safe, I will be safe.
There you go, fairly sage advice until you got to my post.
Happy hobbying.
