Brand new to all of this. Some questions.

ID is nothing and I would not take it
as away to screen . heck a guy sent me his SS no. witch I was thinking how dumb
or heck it might not be his, same with a ID..
and he's joined p411 & ter with no reviews yet and I still not going to see him
p411 is good but if you don't have a few OKAYS does no good in my book
I have never called any ones JOB same as ID thing how do I know it's really
you i'm talking to or you can give a fake number

SCREENING IS NEVER 100% that we will be safe

I think I still have my driver's license scanned on my computer just for instances like this. Difference is I mask out last name, date of birth, address and DL number. Pretty clear it's a government ID! If that's not good enough, oh well, sucks to be me.

All very, very true but one fact no one can deny, ain't no cop worth anything is going to take the chance of having ANY of her/his personal info sitting on somebody's computer or phone. ESPECIALLY their picture. KCPD done learned their lesson years ago!

if a guy contacts a provider what is the best way for her to make sure he is just a dude who wants a good time?>

my guess is
is he on eccie/some board
does he have reviews?

why providers want 3+ recent reviews!! or 12 is a bit beyond me, why is 3 or 12 better(assure safety) more than 1 or 2?

Usually, it's ID plus work information.

Think of the references like points of contact in rock climbing. The more points of contact you have, the less likely you are to fall to your death. Plus, not all girls get back in a timely manner with reference checks. (I know because I am often one of those girls during the semester. ) So just because she asks for 8, doesn't mean she's going to hear back from all 8. And not all girls have the same standard of "safety." I made the mistake of taking just one reference once and will never, ever do that again. Her state of "safety" shared exactly no borders with mine.

But, with a wider net, you get a better idea of what sort of guy might be showing up on your doorstep. Your best bet for references and a good way to expedite things is to let your references know when you'll be using them. That way you can also find out what their preferred method of contact is for other girls. Makes the whole process a lot smoother.

Reviews by themselves are too easily faked. But if a guy has several reviews then he should hopefully have several references.

If he has several references, then he should get P411 &/or D-C membership. That way the OKs stay around even if the ladies in question retire. That kind of OK is not as good as a current reference, but it is a whole lot better than none.

3 or 12 or ???. It is all about the number of good data points. I expect most ladies feel safer the more good references you have.

Reference formula that has worked very well for me.

1. When you see Lady X, do something to make yourself memorable in a good way. A small hand selected gift is really good for this. I knew one lady had a young daughter and I brought her a copy of "Where the Sidewalk Ends". She loved it, AND it makes it very easy to remind her who I am.

2. Later want to use X as a reference to see Lady Y: I write to X asking if it is alright to use her as a reference, tell her I will pass her info to Y as a reference. I confirm the best way for Y to contact her.

This does three things:
a) Jogs her memory of who I am
b) Confirms that she is still active, still giving references, and that her contact info is current
c) Is just polite

Then I write to Y, give her X as a references, with preferred contact means, and let her know I contacted X and she is expecting the reference check.

It might be a spot more work, but the ladies I am trying to see are generally worth the effort. It reduces time delays, confusion about who I am, and seems to increase the chances for a positive referral.

I cannot tell you how much easier (and faster) it is to screen gentlemen who do this. Without giving a reference a heads up, it can take a while for her to get back to me as she has to look up your information and try to remember some details from their date. Plus, different girls use different systems for keeping track of their naughty and nice lists. So one girl might need a phone number and an approximate time they say each other while another might need an email address and a name. If you contact me via phone and her via email, there's a very good chance she could come back with "I have no idea who this dude is" and that can look like trying to provide a fake reference rather than the miscommunication that it is.

Besides that, during school, I don't have a lot of free time to invest in checking references when I've been provided minimal information. If all I get is a name (especially one I'm not familiar with), I might not get around to even attempting to reach out to the girl until the weekend. Which really sucks when I'm horny as hell.
