The writer of The Brothel, before researching the Mustang Ranch, had been a volunteer in an outreach clinic/service on Time Square in NYC that was giving help to the teenage, runaway, street prostitute.

The book ended with her approval of the houses because the working girls were so much better off than the street girls she worked with in NYC, Even as a feminist who disapproved of prostitution, she could clearly see the harm reduction that comes with legalization and regulation.

I understand your resentment of the rent, the fees and the sharing of your earnings with the houses. I think your situation as a savvy, independent professional is hardly comparable to some helpless pimped out street girl. I think the Nevada model, with all its downsides, still offers a way to ply the trade with the most safety to the working girl, the client and to society at large.

Easy or not, how does a decision to be a prostitute deserve your "highest regard and respect"?

I reserve that for the women (as well as men) that buckle down and educate themselves, develop a skill and are willing to work hard and earn my respect.

I don't think a self respecting woman sells her body without having explored all the other options and I have met more women taking this route that forgo other options without even trying than I have those that exhausted other options first.

I like to have sex with women without the hassles of developing a relationship.

I am not sure why my opinion in regards to holding those that take a harder and more acceptable path towards success in higher esteem than those that choose to prostitute themselves correlates to my sexual desires.

I might prefer a girl with an education and ambition as a friend or more in life but show me a nice ass and rack and it's about physical enjoyment.

I have been asked a variety of things as well as for several different things when undergoing screening but not a single lady has asked if I respect a hooker more than a woman with a degree and/or job.

Isn't this about the money and the sex?

Why do you believe you are better than her? You simply have a different pricing structure and forgo management.
