It's the Market Place that sets the mediam going rate and each individual provider or agency must understand the concept of value and business repetition.
Starbucks sell expensive coffee, wait they don't sell coffee, they sell an experience.

supply and demand
price increases sometimes work, sometimes don't.
grandfathering in old clients helps. May alienate new clients knowing their paying more for same time or service as other hobbyists.
Some hobbyists will see a certain provider or type of provider no matter the cost. Looks, types of services, quality of services.
I think most hobbyists take into consideration when choosing providers the price of time and services.
Also in deciding length and number of sessions.

My experience is that there are gems out there at all levels of the rates. Pick your budget, do your research, and enjoy your time. You're always going to find a lemon, but there's nothing you can do about it except write a review so others don't venture blind into the same experience.
Complaining about high rate providers is pointless. The provider (or their pimp) sets the rate. Either 1 of 2 things will happen.
1 - the provider is over valuing their looks/service and soon enough reviews will show it
2 - the provider is deserving of the high rate and the reviews will support it

This is a topic I enjoy talking about, thank you for bringing it to the general public's eyes. Hang in there, please, as this will be a bit long.
One of the beautiful things about the hobby, from a provider's perspective, is that it gives most women an opportunity they never had before: to own and run their own business. Some of you know how much work that is, how exhilarating, frustrating, rewarding, nerve-wrecking, unpredictable, empowering, etc that can be. It is an opportunity many women, as civilians will never have.
With that comes many learning opportunities as well: learning the market, learning marketing, learning their niche, their strengths, their weaknesses, how to budget, how to set goals, how to manage their time properly, who their target audience is, who is not, etc.
When setting rates, I believe there are several, several factors that go into consideration, and NONE of them should reflect how a woman feel in regards to her worth as a person. We cannot price ourselves emotionally, it is a ridiculous concept because we, as individuals, are all different and special in our own particular ways IN OUR PRIVATE LIFE. This is business.
With that said, it is not just ANY business and many of the laws of the regular market do not work when thinking of hookernomics. Here are some of the general ideas when setting rates and if the rates set will commensurate with the product:
- How much are you able to set yourself apart when it comes to SERVICE AND SKILLS? I have often talked about establishing a niche market and, as with any product, if you can do something different or the same but in a better way, you managed to achieve product differentiation.
- Level of professionalism, TCB, consistency: how seriously do you take this business? To offer a very high level of TCB, it takes being available almost at every single waking hour to do business. Meaning, no matter what one is doing, she is literally one message away from being reached within a reasonable amount of time. Or, you can pay someone to do it for you. There are pros and cons to doing that but that's not the topic here. If you are able to offer consistent amazing experiences, you are better off than a flaker.
- Poise/Education/Class or Lack of: depending on your target audience, you will have to be able to interact with them. Your rate attracts a certain type of person, longer appts attract a certain type of person. And don't assume I am saying that the more educated can charge more than the less educated. This is just a factor. If you are a pornstar, no one cares what your degree is on.
- Incall quality and quality (cost) of overall experience
- Desired Volume, personal budget, and goals: I am positive that most ladies here have no desire to see the whole city of San Antonio or the great State of Texas. We cannot be mass produced. I only have so many hours a day/week and I much rather enjoy the company of a few quality gents than see many and make more. Volume is a very individual thing. I can't stand short appts and have not offered them for a very long time, some ladies prefer short appts and price them so they are more attractive. Nothing wrong with that. Some ladies don't care about volume and that's completely fine, just like some men don't care either. As someone said: This is not a business you can build up and pass to your kids or sell based on revenues.
- Desirability: there's a market for every type of body, age etc, but some people are able to charge more because there's a higher demand for that type and age, but that's not to say that, if properly marketed, a less popular body type cannot be financially successful. It's all about finding your audience. Example: If I was a teenager (legal age), I would sell barely legal all day long for a price men who want it are willing to pay for it. Trust me.
Obviously, there are many other factors, I'm just slightly touching on a few. No super secrets here. And as mentioned before, there are gems to be found at every price point, absolutely. The truth is, hobbying is a lot like eating: sometimes you snack, sometimes you eat a regular meal, sometimes you feast. Most ladies here are not just selling holes to be filled, that can be easily found. We are selling an escape that happens to include the carnal aspect of it.
Finally, as for giving ourselves raises, I think that, with any business, money is a consequence of doing a job well done and loving what you do. It comes with it. A woman who solely gets into this for the money will find herself burned out quickly. It is rewarding to be your own business owner, no matter how stressful it can be at times, I wouldn't change it for a thing.
Stay safe and have fun hobbying,
Camille

As always very articulate post Camille, you seem to have the hookernomics down to a science. Lol. Thanks for your interesting perspective on the subject

Please don't "quote" long winded diatribes when making a White knight stand...simple ass kissing is suffice. Lol
I've been hobbying 20+ years. Started paying $25-$50 SW then $100 from newspaper/current ads, then $125-$150 on aspd then $150 - $200 for TOP QUALITY SLIM TRIM on ECCIE and I mean TOP NOTCH. But in the meantime the "Heftyuns" started appearing...AND GETTING PAID TOO?!?! Well that pretty much ended Sanity based pricing...so now the Slim Trim want top dollar. All I can say is thank goodness for grandfather rates!
But I ain't paying no $300 and I GOTS the wallet, just ain't THAT stupid.

Gentlemen with all do respect do your research there's plenty of gorgeous provider's with great skills at an affordable rate. like myself I have tried $$0/$$50 but that didn't work so I had to make some changes not that my time isn't worth it! but considering that school is out and right back around the corner. I understand that everyone is on a budget so with that being said gentlemen do your research and stop thinking with the wrong head. 👿

Easier said than done, dont believe me ask the people of Ashley Madison
As far as the $$$, to each their own. I can afford it, but a bit high priced to me.
I'm interested to hear from the ladies who have joined in the price hike if its been beneficial overall. If so, it would appear the market has made its decision.

Hurling insults is not necessary when expressing an opinion. Keep the animosity out of these open forums.

I apologize if you were unaware of what your name meant, not a play on words?
Perhaps growing up in San Antonio I thought you'd be aware if someone called you something you mistook for Cool Arrow, it was actually culero.
Kuhlarrow = Culero = Asshole
So not slanging insults, just stating facts.
Have no animosity for someone I'll never meet, probably twice my age, and whos never been known to have anything positive to say.
