Uber-UberX Car ride service - Anyone using them?

I just used lift as well although not on purpose. Car was in the shop and had an outcall request at a local hotel. The hotel uses the service, I suppose, and called them for me. Older gentlemen with a very clean SUV. I like that you can order a car at a particular time which you cannot do with a cab. But, it wasn't cheaper than the cab I took to get there, so not sure what there rates are. Can you check those somewhere? Plus, Austin has the worst cab services I have ever seen. I will never use Austin Cab again. They are so damn incompetent. The safety issue does bother me. There was no number or badge that I saw. Nothing to write down or to identify the person should something go south. Perhaps I just didn't see it.

I use Lyft often to get to and from Comedy shows and mics during the week.

- Cheaper than a cab and even without tipping them, they get paid very well for the time/miles.
- Lots of opportunities to get 10-20% off rides
- Every car I have been in (at least 6 different ones) look brand spankin' new. Definitely no beat up Mazdas.
- You get to sit in the front seat and the driver TALKS to you...or doesn't! It's all up to you.
- You get to play co-pilot, your stations, your AC control, your passenger driving....
- Tipping is done AFTER you get out of the car.
- All through debit, no awkward transactions.
- Their drivers are rated 1-5 stars each ride. If they get a 4, it's bad news. They're very serious about their customer service -- and it shows.
- Easy to use App

I hear they're cheaper than Uber and the drivers get paid better.
