I think the take away is that you should keep doing things the way you are doing them hobby wise. There are popular girls that have avid white knights, because they suck in drama. Popular girls with their heads on their shoulders probably have would be white knights that we will never see.

I have a feeling the reason you didnt understand the stigma is because you havent needed any WKs. Honestly I think you have built up enough trust equity that something would have to go horribly wrong for that to change. A majority of the board would assume you were on the right end if some drama occurred or at the vary least assume it was a misunderstanding.

Thank you I appreciate the sediment. I do my best to assume every date is a potential friend and lover. One should always treat their friends and lovers with respect. Of course I am prone to mirroring my partner as well. If respected respect is returned. So far this has been beneficial all around.

Sometimes I wondered if the branded deserved it and if the mere term ruined something little girls (and yes grown women) fantasize about the whole of their life. The white knight riding in on his steed full of honor and morality and integrity. helping the helpless and saving the world. Understand I don't particularly feel this is of interest to me in a real life capacity (though might be a interesting sexual fantasy to play with) still I found the connotations depressing and thought perhaps I would find a broader perspective. Which, thanks to all of the wonderful answers, I have found.

WK has many connotations, depending on who it refers to and who throws it out to describe someone. I think the term is thrown around a lot on here by some guys because they have a more negative, throw away view of providers and think any man who defends one is a pussy. In this scenario, if you act as a gentleman or show respect in corresponding about a provider, you are given the moniker by guys who are just haters.
I also see the term used in the manner I associate, a guy who is emotionally involved with a provider that goes beyond what the hobby is set up for. Jaycee, I am sure you have experienced these guys.
The worst case scenario for a WK is when a disreputable provider takes advantage of these guys to forward their agenda.
So there are times when WK is a badge of honor, times when it is just hating, and times when it is the sign of a chump.

I have been accused of being a WK on several occassions. I like to think I am defending the truth. If I don't know a lady then I don't get involved unless it looks like needless piling on. I will defend a lady when someone says something that I feel is incorrect or just an outright lie. This forum is supposed to be truthful so we can make good choices. If someone, for whatever reason, is crapping on someone then they are limiting our choices.
