People in any profession/community are want to assess their status against the "competition". The more competitive the community, the more the imperative to know your status--who are real competition, who are not. There are few more competitive professions than acting.

What you conclude as "attraction" may be so, or she may be thinking completely different things. Given much of Sofia's public photos (not movie promo shots) I look at that picture you posted and would guess she is thinking that JM is dressed like a slut more than she is lusting after her.
