I'm 100% dominant, a TOP in play. But that doesn't mean I want some non-aggressive, non-vocal, shy and literally doesn't move unless I instruct them to like some geisha girl from the middle ages type of submissive woman. To me that would be boring, if I wanted a mindless blow up doll I'd just buy another!
Now some in the lifestyle that is exactly what both parties want from there dynamic, which is totally cool. But to me I've topped multiple pro Domme's who would never or have never let anyone else do that to them in their pro or private lives but me.
It all goes back to where do your submissive or dominant urges, thoughts and feelings comes from, what is the root of them. Some people can only be submissive or dominant with one person or a few people ever.
It's an energy, vibe, feeling, trust, confidence and vulnerability thing that's hard to put into words. It's rare, but when it matches up damn it's like fire and ice exploding over and over onto each other mentally, emotionally, physically, sexually and spirtually.
I would think with most provider's most guys want you to be top dog and you certainly need to have more trust with a guy when you're in the submissive position by nature.
