Op - you know you have it right and the vast majority of folks in here get it and keep it civil. Then there's the others who are going to take a shit in a thread no matter what the tread is about.

And I totally agree the largeness/media access of eccie compared to the aspd days allows for the trolls to find food to gnaw on easier.

It does appear to be getting worse.

Not surprisingly I read a post earlier today from 2016. It was following the same sentiments of your thinking OP.

You have solid advise too - IGNORE THEM ! There is strength in silence !

And in the spirit of why we're here - I got laid this morning and it was absolutely fantastic. She left me panting as I walked out the door with this comment : " I really really love sex " !

I bet there are around 10 people that cause 99% of the issues. Hell of the 10 some of them may be the same person using different handles.

I've also been around since the old board and we have always had our problem posters. The old guard checked them up sometimes, but after years of trying they found out it's useless.
This is a big board and I'm sure the Mods are just as tired of fighting the trolls and reta.ds as we are.
This board has over 400K members, yet on any given day there are only about 10K on the board. Why - no one likes drama. that's not why we're here.

Seasoned members can help, but all members that see posts that are inappropriate should RTM AND call out the member. Not sure who said it, but we all have to be a part of the solution.

I think the vast majority are just here to have fun with like minded individuals.

That being said, I have an idea to bounce off of y'all:

What if we could convince the powers that be to open up a special sub-forum for the Trolls? Call it 'He-Said/She-Said', or 'Shark Frenzy', or 'Troll-Tards Post Here' or 'The Hearsay Forum'. Let them post whatever the hell they want, in as many threads as they want. You have an unfounded rumor? Start a thread there. You want to trash somebody? Do it in a thread there.

The Troll-Tards would have their own little kingdom in which to rip each other to shreds. Then, when they attempt to venture out into the areas of the board where actual information is being exchanged, wouldn't it be easier to slap the hell out of them (figuratively speaking) and send them to their room without dinner than it is now?

It may have been tried before. It might be the worst idea in the history of Eccie. It could possibly also work, IF the Admins and Mods would then crack down harder on the (already existing) posting rules in the rest of the forums.

What is y'alls opinion? Good, Bad, Ugly, or just plan friggin' ridiculous?

If the guidelines are not being violated then the modtards cannot slap the trolls around, this is not aspd where the modtards enforced their own rules rather than aspd's rules. Remember to read the guidelines, I never have made it to #5.
