The fact that he is no longer the head of the CIA doesn't insulate him from a subpoena issued by the congressional committee investigating your made-up Bhengazi fantasy cover-up. He can still be forced to appear and testify before the committee and say, or not say, the very same things he would say, or not say, if he was still running the CIA.

I also don't find any allegations that Petraeus would participate in a cover-up to be very convincing. What would be his motivation? This is a man who has spent his life in the service of his country.

I have all of the respect in the world for General Petraeus. While his affair is unfortunate, that does not minimize the fact that he served this country honorably for many years. America is a better country because of General P. If the CIA made mistakes in Libya, let him respond to those questions. I have every confidence that he is more than capable of articulating his thoughts!

As for the affair, it is not my place to judge and I am not going to try to do so! I prefer to focus on his service to this country. I will let the "holier than thous" waste their time trying to pass judgement!

Question: Why didn't Petraeus make his resignation official after he testified? He could have appointed an acting director to manage things.

There is something seriously wrong here. The administration does NOT want him to testify! Hillary won't be available to testify, either.
