Some U.S. individuals, including the group State Department Watch, assert American ownership of Herald Island based on the 1855 landing. A 1988 resolution of the Alaska State Senate supported this claim. However, the United States government has never claimed Herald Island, and recognizes it as Russian territory. In 1994, the Alaska State Supreme Court ruled in D. Denardo v. State of Alaska that Herald Island, along with several islands, is not part of Alaska.
Oh.

So people who work for the Government don't serve their country?
Get your facts straight.

Some of them do, most of them don't. Most serve the collectivist nanny state.
I thought he was referencing military service.

Oh now I see, so if you are a guard at the entrance of Camp Pendleton or Fort Briggs then you serve the country, and if you pad down women for the TSA then you're not serving the country but only serving your own sick and dirty mind?

Yup. You got it, Wave. Like the TSA guy who patted down a four year old boy in a wheelchair and wouldn't let the boy's father come near to calm him down. That is not serving our country. That is aiding and abetting the police state.

Don't go there COG, there are too many examples of US military that I would not exactly call "serving the country".

Well, Wave, I'm sure there are, but for the most part, I think our men and women in uniform believe they are serving their country and defending freedom. However, there are some who are not there for honorable purposes. I will generally give veterans the benefit of the doubt, until shown otherwise.

In spite of the 1855 landing, the 7 islands isn't ours to begin with?

Let's get this straight, you have spent a career on the government tit.
I doubt you have ever run a business of built a God Damn thing that was not financed with tax payer money.
I have not agreed with many posters on this site but I actually like most all of them. I can honestly say you are the worst kind of person this country can produce. While I do not care for welfare folks, I at least understand they do not as a rule have a high IQ. You on the other hand are no dummy but all you do is lie and distort and try and spread hate.
