Elum, links to names have always been removed while I have been on this board (including my previous time). Can I politely ask you to show where St. C has stated his opinion differently. You asked someone to show what guideline so it is only fair that you be asked to back it up too

You are right... I have not.. most of them were of a bust here or a bust there.
But like I said... sometimes you have to use a little common sense... and this is one of those times.
The whores (your word) you sleep with could have any disease under the sun and you'd never know unless she said something or it got leaked somehow. Same goes for the hobbyists. That's the chance we all take when we get into this business. We all know the risks that are out there, but yet.....we all still do it.
I see that you edited what you first said so I will leave that part alone... I don't care much for the word... but in this case it fits.
Yes it is a chance we all take... but when someone admits to knowingly and intentionally exposing HIV to the community, that is something else.
Now, I'm NOT saying what she did was right because its so wrong on many different levels. Any person whether in the hobby or not has a right to sleep around with people while knowing damn well they have a disease that isn't curable and should be telling their partners so their partner can make the decision to sleep with them or not.
I believe that you meant 'Does not have a right to sleep around with out telling their partners".
and if that is the case... I can not agree more... I am not planning on making that a habit though.
You mr. mule do what you need to do. But, just remember......you don't own this playground. If you don't like the way it is ran, go find a new playground. And its been ran the same fucking way since 2009 with or without you.
Yes it has been ran the same fucking way since 2009... and St. C has had to step in and continually repeat himself every since then too.
|
Do a quick search for Michael Wayne Jackson... that name has had links not only to his real world info but his ECCIE screen names since...... drum roll please... 2009.
So yes this board has been ran the same fucking way since the beginning.
AND YES... I am putting a girl that is knowingly and intentionally exposing the community to HIV into the same category as a rapist.
(I hope someone tied him to a fire ant mound and poured honey on his privates)

Now this is just turning into a pissing contest.
With a few key terms (e.g. Columbia Tribune, prostitute, HIV) the article was easy enough to find.
I know that's not the point, but really, who's got time for all that?

MODs are not always correct in their interpretation of rules.
and Members not only have the right but a responsibility to question them
One thing St. C is on record for is that he is very against the removal of information from the board except where it truly violates guidelines and represents a real world danger to members.
IMO your MOD is off the reservation a bit here. Unless this information is being presented in a manner TO TIE IT TO A MEMBER OF THE BOARD it does not seem to rise to the guideline that possibly is used in these cases
#5 - Outing or threats of outing are taken seriously. Membership here is anonymous and for the privacy of our members it will remain that way. That means any effort or attempt to connect a person's real world information to their username on this board will be dealt with swiftly and harshly. This includes real names, employment, medical info, addresses past or present, images, criminal or driving record, etc. We expect everyone who participates here to respect and go to great lengths to protect the anonymity and privacy of one another. Reckless disregard or accidental outing will also be taken very seriously.
Your MOD may be sideways with St. C in reference to another Guideline he has addressed numerous times.
#22 - ECCIE Staff will go to great lengths to avoid editing, deleting, or censoring our members posts or threads...unless absolutely necessary. Forbidden topics such as underage sex, illicit drugs, bestiality, revealing personal info, medical speculation, or images not in compliance will be removed from public view. Controversial, troublesome, or objectionable posts may draw staff attention or in some cases disciplinary action, but the offending post will not be removed from the view of our membership in any but the most extreme cases. Often times you will find directions, footnotes, or other guidance from staff edited INTO posts which draw our attention. These are for the purpose of educating the readers of what is and what is not acceptable as well as informing others about how these issues have been dealt with. Members are encouraged to RTM posts which include rule infractions or objectionable material if it appears that staff has not already become involved with the thread or post in particular.
Please take a look at the following which is just 10 minutes of research.....
http://eccie.net/showthread.php?t=1096061 in Dallas contains link to http://kfor.com/2014/06/24/prostitut...no-boundaries/ which has photos and names of those arrested. Has stood since 06-25-2014

I hope they charge her with attempted murder.
Hey Testthewaters, are you reading this? Now tell us again how great BBFS is!
I realize that ECCIE has their guidelines to protect any possible liability, as well as protect the privacy of their members. I respect that. Even so, stories like this just piss me off. There is no need for medical speculation here, since she admitted her medical condition to the police. The fact that she was continuing to work as a provider and the associated health risk to the hobbying community as a whole should trump any right to discretion on her behalf. That is of course, just my opinion. Her name, picture, and her HIV status should be broadcast on a billboard for all to see. But if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Oh well.

If a john has/had been busted, would you be OK with that link being posted? I'm guessing not. You guys would never want YOUR real name linked to a hooker board.
|
You obviously don't read much. I posted links to a number of threads with links to real world info in stories..... More than one have participation in them from MODs and Admins without removal.....
People might not like it but unless there is an attempt to TIE the picture and name of a member to the story it does not seem to violate any guidelines.

As long as I have been here (including my previous handle), this issue has been handled the same way. I am talking about KC. I dont give a shit about Dallas or Arizona, because different areas have long been able to police things differently.

Actually, I do read a lot. Thanks for the bitchy response though.
In the KC, NE and IA forums, all links with real names attached to them have always been removed since I've been here. All the MOD's of past and present have deleted links with real names in these areas.
So, might I suggest you do your homework in the areas I spoke of before giving attitude.

AS the membership of other cities have come to learn over time and there will no doubt be others...... The fact that you have MODs enforcing guidelines in a certain way does not necessarily mean they are right.
If the membership blindly accepts their actions then shame on you all.
The board has one set of guidelines that govern the entire board.
There are no "local rules" or "regional rules".....
I did not see the original post that was removed but from what I have read you folks have a MOD or MODs that are doing what they want and what they want may not be allowed within the Guidelines of the board. You will never know if you do not speak up and challenge their decisions by taking examples up with ADMINS and the Owners of the board.
In many cases across the site MODs have been reversed, told to apologize to members, made to reverse points as well as to restore content they erroneously removed.
If you never speak out.... you get what a couple of people decide is best for you.

My response was not bitchy darlin..... simply questions with examples and the relative guidelines.... I do not need to do any homework on the areas .... The board has one set of guidelines for ALL the members and ALL the MODs....
Sounds like you folks have MODs that do not understand the Guidelines they are supposed to make decisions by.
Just because it has always been a certain way does not necessarily mean they are right.
If the membership are sheep being herded then the ADMIN and Owners will never know to intervene....
I thought all the sheep were over in Oklahoma?

If anyone has the original post and the link to the story send it to me. If I feel it is within the guidelines I will repost it as a new thread with appropriate questions and copy the post to the ADMINS and Owners for their opinions.
Odds are it is not something that should be removed based on the comments here.

There certainly are different rules for different boards. Where is the Short Term Availability thread in Austin where you do many of your reviews along with its stated rules?
Its fine to question things, but when you are wrong dont make yourself out to look like a freedom fighter. This thread has no signs of egregious censorship. It does have signs of being handled as it long has been handled in KC. Different areas handle things differently. There are overall guidelines that transcend different boards, but there has long been different actions taken on different boards.

Austin is run properly with MODs that know what they are there for. As members we police ourselves with very little MOD intervention.
Perhaps you should ask Chica Chaser for his opinion of Short Term Availability Threads,
It actually does seem that content allowed within the guidelines of the board was removed.
Yes... There are different rules for different boards.
But this is ECCIE. It has a set of Guidelines and posts within those guidelines should stand anywhere they are posted on ECCIE.
More than a few MODS have fell by the wayside over the years for acting differently.....
