Todays song is from the late great Roy Orbison, I never get tired of this song. Check out this version, the video is in black and white and see if you can name all the other artist in this classic:

Great song......

I recognized;

Pat Swayze (audience)
Roy... duh!!
Jackson Browne
ELVIS COSTELLO (see post #19) and,
The "Boss" Bruce Springsteen

Who'd I miss??? I'm sure some of the other artists are "famous" I just didn't recognize them, or never knew what they looked like.

Nice choice "BB"

big bob,

thx for starting a great thread. music is in us all, whether we know it or not. just think about all the AM and FM radio transmissions that have been permeating our bodies since we were in utero!! plus all the music we actually heard live or from 78s, 33 1/3rd LPs, 45s, 33 1/3rd EPs, 8 tracks, cassettes, CDs, internet, iPods, mp3 players and more.

how about billy joel's "My Life"??
.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3JFEfdK_Ls

i like the verse at 3:00 - it's one of my favorites verses!
they will tell you you cant sleep alone in a strange place.
then they'll tell you you cant sleep with somebody else.
ah but sooner or later you'll sleep in your own space.
either way it's ok to wake up w/ yourself.
from another verse
you can speak your own mind, just not on my time.
from the the chorus.
i dont care what you say anymore, this is my life.
go ahead with your own life, but leave me alone.
altho he has a bigger group, a great sound from back then.

and there aint much better for simplicity and power than a group w/ lead [piano, guitar, or sax], bass, and drums [may jazz groups, zz top, jimi hendrix cream, etc.]

Aesthetic Perfection - "The Great Depression"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx4Zw34MOY4

Lyrics:

Hey you mother fucking son of a bitch
How dare you speak about it like you know?
Without strife or strain
Each leg keeps moving
Always deviating from the path.

So it's
Left right
Left right
Left right
Back
Don't forget your head where you left it
Now it's too late
Too late
It's so easy to complain
Once you've found a sympathetic ear.

Hey
Wait
Is this the answer?
These scars are nothing but a lie
Lay
Waste
Bleeding hearts will always run dry
The worst great depression is my life.

So you feel like you're drowning in shit?
Well I've got some bad news for you
Why don't we share some lines?
Slaughtered like swine
California dreams of suicide
You're all P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C
That is all it is and how it stays
I like to take the drugs
'Cause love is mearly chemical
Throw it all away and suck it down
Fuck you!

Hey
Wait
Is this the answer?
These scars are nothing but a lie
Lay
Waste
Bleeding hearts will always run dry
The worst great depression is my life.

Happy Thursday!

Default Phil Collins.....

although a great musician, his solo career turned a bit "sappy" as time went on.

I know MOST of us can remember "Crockett & Tubbs" cruising down the road and Crockett said "how much time have we got".....

Enjoy!!!

bet ya can't sit still at the 3:16 mark.....

Todays song of the day is by John Fogerty, I truly loved Credence when I was growing up. Fogerty is about as old time rock and roll as you can get and I have been fortunate enough to see him in concert a few times. This is a live video with Keith Urban and its a great tune, turn up your volume and get up and dance!!!!!

We sure do Bob, but I can't let that stay at the top of the "song of the day" thread, LOL, that is just TOO hard to start a day on......

On a little calmer note, (Collins played drums here too, after death of John Bonham)
