that explains a lot

ZZ Top was awesome in the 1970's, but most of their fans came aboard with the Eliminator album.

they beat the Stones to the recording studio with their song "Brown Sugar", that came out a year or so before the Stones' different song of the same name. but nobody heard ZZ Top's version.

RIOT - great band
not Quiet Riot mind you, but RIOT of "swords and tequila" fame/infamy.

Love/Hate - "Blackout In The Red Room"
Lords Of The New Church - "Russian Roulette"
Jim Carroll Band - "People Who Die"
Jim Carroll Band( he gets two for lyric quality) - "The Voices"
Agent Orange - "No Such Thing"
RAMONES - "Freak Of Nature"

I don't know RIOT, but I like Quiet Riot, at least that blockbuster Metal health album. and I give props to Kevin Dubrow for having the 2nd best rock and roll death, behind John Entwistle of the Who.

Jimmy Hendrix actually helped ZZ Top in the early days as they toured. Billy Gibbons is a certified bad ass who also owns one of the few truly authentic 1959 Les Paul in sunburst. Of course he never plays it but there’s a lot of historical significance around ZZ Top. A must see before they croak.
