Attention Lurkers! -- Verification/Screening

ok just to throw my 2 cents in I joined this board to find who are the decent ladies.
I am married and have a lot to lose.I personally cant have people poking around in my personal affairs and I sure couldn't use my credit card on anything like p411.
There are a lot of ladies on this board who I would love to see I also travel alot for work and there are ladies on other boards but with out refference's it's pretty hard.
I saw Julinka about 10-12 years ago when she went by another name in her condo but I doubt i could get a reffence it's been so long

well in order to get somewhere you have to be willing to give something in return. you cant expect one us to walk into the unknown with someone we dont know. would you? when choosing to spend time with someone, you have to put your own doubts aside and trust that all your information is kept silent and then disposed of once the screening process is complete.

also it was not wise to put that bit of personal information about a provider out there like that

After talking with a few providers via email, I just processed the P411... one step closer.

its actually not that bad.. they will take a cash payment if you can process it that way via snail mail, they call and verify you in private at your office so...

Yes, that's what I used and when I had troubles making it go through automatically, I just called the P411 contact and they ran it for me.
No credit card statements or other ties to your home!

Jaknow - I understand your situation, but I tell potential clients that we have as much or more to lose than they do info were to get into the wrong hands. I treat all private client info as extremely sacred and do not pass it to anyone. Usually, once you get one provider OK, you'll be good from then on.
I don't understand men who will let any woman they know walk into their hotel room or home without some sort of verification on them. Why would they expect us to enter an unknown situation? What if a provider were your SO, daughter, friend? Would you want to enter a totally unknown environment?

Hello everyone. I'm new here, so be gentle. How safe is it to give out credit card info for verification? I've been to a couple of websites like datewhoever.com and been directedto a securepass.com website. I'm usually very leery of giving my CC info out to an unknown site. I'm pretty tech challenged and probably a little paranoid! Thanks, jim

Don't do it! There are some established sites, like P411, where there is a membership fee, and they are safe. But giving out cc info for verification is only likely to lead to odd charges on your cc. Only give cc info to well known sites.

As far as the odd charges that might show up on your CC, it's important to read the fine print if you decide to try it. Most have recurring charges i.e. $40 per month for access to porn sites, you probably aren't interested in. If will only stop if you contact them and cancel, and the cancellation method isn't always clear. I tried the live video feeds about 6 months or so ago and they automatically set you up for recurring charges. Fortunately, I read the agreement and cancelled it the following day.

BTW, we're considerably beyond the 30 day dead thread rule on this, but it seems useful so I'll take my demerits - LOL!

I second what the guys say. Most of the "screening" sites are supposed to give you access to porn sites. Many are scams, from the guys I've talked to. I've run into a lot of guys who are sent to those sites after answering a CL or BP personals ad, or other adult meeting sites.
The screening sites for providers are a bit different, as JAG says. Most girls use p411.com. Datecheck.com is also a popular one.

Thanks for the responses and info. There is a definite shortage of reliable providers in my local area (Middle of nowhere, La.), and as I stated, I'm hesitant to give the credit card to an unknown site. I really hope I can find a newby friendly provider so I can justify the verification fees.

Also, thanks to the mods for letting a newby post to an old thread. We gotta learn the ropes somehow.
