Drink minimums? Clubs can’t enforce that. It’s against TABC rules

For the time it has been closed, they could have torn the building down, cleaned up the mess, built a new foundation and building brick by brick, re-wired and rebuilt the inside, new carpet and furniture.

Aside from the higher expense of a complete rebuild, this may also be a permitting issue. As far as I know, permits for adult oriented business are tied intimately to the real estate. If the real estate is sold, the permit is still valid for the new owner which is good because no one is issuing new permits anymore.
Not sure the permit remains valid if the build is demolished.

The owners of Baby Dolls never owned the building just the land it sits on from what I understand. When it shut down because of covid they could not come to a agreement with the building owner. Now just recently they were able to buy the building and can make improvements as they see. Yes they don't seem to be in a huge hurry but it seems it's happening and will be back open sooner then later.

Still not open but the constitution trailer is still there and trucks and men coming and going. Have even seen the sign on a couple of times.
Interesting comment from the GM at Cab East. He told me BDFW had been sold. If so, that might explain the delay in reopening. The place was a cash cow for Birch for so many years, it's hard to believe he would sell it. But,some problems have been keeping it closed for several years now. I know for a long time Birch owned either the building or the land but not both. Maybe there was a dispute with the lease?
The saga continues.

The last I have heard is early 2023. What is funny is there was a sign on the front doors advertising BDD that is now gone. I don't think it has been sold as the building is still being managed with someone and the BDD van is parked there sometimes as well. I'm pretty sure you will see it opening up after the first of the year. Just hope it BDFW and not some other ghetto ass club that has that area right now.

I have also heard Burch bought the land. Who knows? I still see activity and different trucks there.

Late Feb is what the gm at Cab is saying. The deal with Ricks does not close till some time in Feb. I understand they want to make a few changes to the club

Sometimes new ownership means new timelines. Lots of difference scenarios could be going on.

In my opinion...........( which usually ain't worth much, {just ask any of my 2 ex-wives},lol), if it's recently re-sold, it's going to re-open. Does any one buy something just to not use it? Does Rick's own anything else in this area?
In the meantime, how is Stiletto's doing these days?

Actualy, yes. Cab East is a Ricks club. THey are still discussiong the format for the club so that is different from Cab East and appeal to a different client. But in answer to your question, Yes, sometimes companies will buy a package of businesses to get the ones they really want. They then sell off the ones they did not want.
Stilettos has been gone for awhile. Its Pandoras. BYOB club

I would take that building and the land and sell it once that carwash is finished. Just move the operations part of it to Cab East and change the format to what BDFW once was. No need for Pandora's and Cab East to cater to the gangster crowd at both stops. That is always what made BDFW stand out for me that was completely different in that area.

I am told the contract was signed by both parties. Ricks has ordered new equipment like registers, uniforms, etc for the clubs. Still looking at BDFW opening in the next few weeks but could not get a firm answer
