The transmitter was probably a remote control device to detonate the bombs he had in his car. They were fertilizer and fuel oil it looks like.

There is a video analysis and breakdown in the NY Times today that is eye popping. You really should look at it even if you don't like that outlet. It seems fairly objective and bias free. But the more that comes out the more SHOCKING that this is in terms of how much of an absolute fuckup this was on the part of the Secret Service. Maybe local LE too. But this whole thing is absolutely amazing. They had so many chances to prevent this. Missed every one. Inexcusable. Heads need to roll. And not just Cheatles.

I was going to respond to phil-lashio but I see he was just banned. Don't know why he was banned but while I didn't agree with everything he said, I thought he raised some good points in his posts. Sorry to see him go. So I will just respond here.

The problem of waiting for a commission to investigate this attempted assassination, as I see it, is that we are now in the middle of a presidential campaign and election. We almost lost the republican candidate to an assassin's bullet. There were colossal errors made here by the secret service and local law enforcement. These errors need to be identified, addressed and corrected now. Not several months from now. The consequences for not correcting these problems now could be devastating for this country. Unfortunately, we are not getting very many answers from this administration to even very basic questions. The secret service director should have been fired already. But nobody in this administration is ever held accountable.

The Biden administration says that they increased Trump's secret service protection, before this assassination attempt, because of a credible assassination threat from Iran. If this was increased protection on July 13, one has to wonder what his protection was like before this. The bottom line here is that corrective measures need to be put in place now, not several months from now. And the secret service director needs to fired today.

She should not resign or be fired. She's done a great job and added more agents when needed. Most all complaints I've seen are all misogynistic remarks to discredit the secret service. Nothing of substance.

Why do you think it was staged? what are some of the aspects of the shooting that prompt you to think it was staged? After many viewings of the shooting at various angles and the appearance of Trump's wound I've come to the conclusion this could have been a staged shooting as well.

Seems like the Secret Service having a front row seat to the Ass Hat Trump show has gotten complacent. The administration should fire Cheatle and her boss Mayorkas and demonstrate they hold the rule of law above politics. I am doubtful they embrace those values.

I certainly understand what you're saying that's why I was asking the question. The idea that the shooting was staged in some way because Trump was seeking sympathy to acquire votes, I am not buying that.
