Yes, Of Course!

Bad reviews, like a poor performance appraisal at work, hurts in many ways, threatens your livelihood and the security of your Loved Ones, so it's only natural to respond. And readers will naturally judge both the reviewer and Provider in what they say and how they say it.

You actually hold an advantage over the Reviewer. Most members of this site don't have access to most of the review, so we can't make much of a judgement on the true intentions of the Reviewer. You, on the other hand, have a unique opportunity to express your sincere desire to understand what you can learn from the experience to improve the experience you offer. You have an opportunity to demonstrate your intelligence, ability to express yourself, and sincerity.

So far you've done a pretty durn good job, and can even further improve the value of your stock as the thread progresses. Good Luck! I hope you are already getting responses from new Clients more in line with those you are trying to attract.

Trust me, you WANT this, and let me tell you why.

If you have many good reviews, then a bad one here and there, a few things happen:

1. The guys who have had good experiences with you will read it and think "WTF?" Maybe, due to conversations on here, they will already know he is a douche and take it with a grain of salt. Or they will now learn that he is a potential douche and note that accordingly. There are some behaviors and scenarios that are so commonplace and stereotypical, that most can pretty much get the idea of what really happened just by how the complaint is laid out in the review.

2. The guys who sympathize and identify with him will choose not to see you, and cool beans because you probably wouldn't have wanted to see them either. It's like magical automated screening - you should almost PM the dude to thank him.

But wait for it... this is where the REAL magic happens...

3. Your clients who adore you, upon seeing this, will become incensed, and will book you right into the next couple weeks. And the guys who may have been on the fence about scheduling will decide to book as well.

Now if you have several bad reviews, a different strategy would be in order.

unless the client chose to show you the review, you're not supposed to know what it actually says, right? so, if you respond, it's just to having seen the word "no" and that immediately puts you at a disadvantage. so, do what you must, but understand there are a thousand ways to fuck it up, and only a few good ones.

A clarification...so hookers don't fuck themselves up by listening to the last comment...

It's not against the rules for a hobbyist to share his review with the provider being reviewed...however...if the provider comes onto the board and mentions anything from the ROS section of that review, in any way, she gets banned, regardless of where she got the review ROS info from...
