Never. We all know once the ring goes on the finger the sex stops.

Solicitation first offense in Texas is now more serious or as serious as drunk driving. 2nd offense as serious as kidnapping. The law passed unanimously, so likely a few hypocrite politicians voted in favor.

Sounds overly broad and unconstitutional.

Like every other law that can be classified as such-- its going to take someone having the balls to actually challenge it. Most folk who get arrested for prostitution related offenses are just trying to make it go away as quickly and quietly as possible.

I also suspect someone offering something of value other than cash or a reasonable equivalent (like gift cards) is unusual enough that you won’t see too many of these prosecuted as solicitation offenses. I do remember reading about some specific non-cash inducements that got included on the sections relating to promotion of prostitution. For example, some guy offering cars, clothing and a place to stay as an effort to coerce someone into prostitution. We all know that’s a common pimp practice.

My real question is how did this get all the the way through to pass without a peep about it in public discourse until it was set to start. None of you horndogs got wind of it? Lonelyfans tried one bad pr move and the whole world jumped down their throat. I guess bc this rule didn't villify sex workers enough... lawmakers argue that this will curb demand, what are you gonna do with a boatload of ex-sex workers with few skills? They aren't going to work at applebees or "go square"... humanitarian crisis.

The Senate slipped in the amendment right before the bill was signed in an hours long session. There was no debate on the floor about the felony charge. There was a quick mention that it would help lower the market for sex workers which would reduce the market for trafficking.

Getting robbed by a lady or her pimp may also become more commonplace. When buying or just offering to buy sex is a felony then reporting a robbery, assault or other mayhem will be impossible without admitting to the commission of a felony too. This new law makes the hobby far more dangerous if seeing someone you dont know, or even someone you do know.

After FOSTA/SESTA, the scarcity of active providers posting on this site was bad. Now after this new law, it is zero thus far. So instead of this site being a 98% sausage fest, it just went to 99.9999%.

''Last minute'' tip.
Flood any and every lady you are remotely interested in, with emails and texts in the next 10 hours.. Time stamped. That gives you August 31 as your ''contract proposal'' should something go wrong. Follow up communication is about details, not the offer.
